Dale Earnhardt Inc. has not announced sponsorship for its No. 01 Sprint Cup entry with driver Regan Smith, but it appears that one of the sponsors will be Principal Financial Services. Smith got into his car at testing Monday morning at Daytona International Speedway wearing a Principal Financial Services uniform, and the company logo graced the rear quarter panel of its car. The company’s Web site was featured on the rear bumper.
“Principal Financial and Dale Earnhardt Inc. have executed a letter of intent for a 2008 sponsorship relationship,” DEI President Max Siegel said. “The details are still being worked through to make Principal Financial a primary and associate sponsor for DEI in 2008. Dale Earnhardt Inc. and Principal Financial will be making a proper announcement once the contract has been signed.”
