Sprint CupThe No. 78 Furniture Row Racing Chevrolet, driven by Joe Nemechek, will once again showcase a unique paint scheme at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway, site of this weekend’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race. For the third year in a row at the Talladega spring event, Furniture Row, the Denver-based company which owns the No. 78 Chevrolet, is devoting its entire space on the car to the National Day of Prayer.

The red, white and blue patriotic paint scheme will include the National Day of Prayer logo on the hood, the rear quarter panels, trunk-lid and the rear bumper (TV) panel of the No. 78 car.

“Using a car driven by Joe Nemechek, an accomplished driver who NASCAR fans recognize, is a fun and exciting way to promote the National Day of Prayer,” said Brian Toon, vice-chairman of the National Day of Prayer. “This event enables us to communicate with a vast audience and show people that there is a day set aside where our nation joins together and prays.”

“I am proud to drive the National Day of Prayer car this weekend,” said Nemechek. “This is something very special for Furniture Row and it’s an honor for me to be included in this annual observance.”

Recognizing that prayer has been and continues to be an integral part of the United States history, Congress established the National Day of Prayer in 1952. The observance is currently held on the first Thursday in May, when all Americans are encouraged to exercise their religious freedom by gathering publicly to worship and pray.
