NASCAR President Mike Helton, Nextel Cup driver J.J. Yeley and Hampton, Va., Mayor Ross Kearney unveiled plans Thursday for a new NASCAR Sports Grille at the Power Plant of Hampton Roads.
The restaurant’s third location is scheduled to open in May 2008. The other two restaurants are already in operation in Orlando, Fla., and Myrtle Beach, S.C.
“It’s often said that being a NASCAR fan is being part of a community,” Helton said in a news release. “That community is part of our tradition and heritage, which is very important to NASCAR. In May 2008, Tidewater’s NASCAR community will be able to gather at the NASCAR Sports Grille to watch races and debate their favorite drivers and teams.”
