First off I own a Toyota Camry and like Toyota and have no problem with them being in NASCAR.

However, I don’t have on Toyota goggles and act like Toyota doesn’t have an edge.

1. It is obvious that Toyota has a HP edge and NASCAR has kissed their butt.

2. NASCAR let Toyota know a week before that they were pulling engines so of course Toyota was ready, and yes Kyle doing a burnout and hitting high RPM’s in the mud could have really reduced HP. ( and yes if I was him I would have burnt the motor up myself knowing it was getting pulled.)

3. To say that HMS dominated last year and nothing being done about it is erroneus because this is all about Nationwide not Cup, and HMS did not dominate Nationwide.

4. The dyno’s also showed that HMS didn’t have a big HP advantage over other teams last year like Toyota does. HMS had the other stuff to go along with it, hence the reason that JGR is the only team dominating with the Toyota HP.

#1, Nascar hasn’t kissed Toyotas butt, Toyota & Toyota teams have been busy doing their homework and figuring stuff out, unlike the other 3 manufactures…

#3/4. If you go back and read everyones opinion on the Toyota issue, people are saying it about Cup too. I don’t believe for a second HP has alot to do with anyone winning. Look at the test results. Everyone is just pissed off that Gibbs figured something out that the other 3 haven’t yet. Everything is passing inspection every week before and after the races. And those who think like Clint ‘Im just jealous’ Bowyer is nothing but a sore loser. Harvick ran away with it in ‘06 and Edwards last year. Toyota was a joke when they came in last year, but now that they are doing good for themselves, everyone is getting pissed…

there is a new suit made by speedo out there and every last record except for 2 has been broken since it was released. The other nations that are not using speedo brand suits are all up in a fuss about the unfair advantage in the new suit (its an 800$ swimsuit thats good for 5 races max)

the results are not in on what is going to happen with it but the Olympic committee is considering not allowing those suits during the Olympics because of the unfair advantage.

as for how i feel? Conflicted. I am sure if it was my driver i would be telling everyone to stop whining (or at least not toyota)

on the other hand if they made it this way by making the cars “spec” cars instead of stock cars.

I would take the one that handles any day. This isn’t so much a Toyota thing. It’s a Gibbs thing. But since Gibbs races Toyotas, everyone has to complain until NASCAR makes a dumb rule to fix it.

Gibbs is better this year, they don’t have an advantage, they are just better.

NASCAR just gave the other teames the advantage.

First of all there are only maybe a half dozen racers driving today that are in the great category.
Second of all JGR has figured something out with the front end that no one else has figured out and along with the extra HP they have produced a winning combination.
Third, not all the Toyota teams run the same motors, so MWR might have a hard time the rest of the year. The Generation 2 motor that they debuted this season has a bigger cylinder bore than any of the other makes so the new tapered plate was justified

I dont understand how can you penalize 1 team for finding horsepower and not another. Whos to say toyotas front clip isnt bad and we just havent seen it yet cause the field has been leveld with the horsepower. Dodge has a significant amount of horsepower over ford and chevy and they have yet to walk away with anything , this is just nascar penalizing a manufactuer for a team who is on there game, this wasnt a penalty against toyota but they have penalized jgr, there are plenty more toyotas in the series and because one team does good nascar penalizes all of them

You did not take time to read as usual, i did not say anything about penalties instead i stated that JGR found something and the other teams will figure it out and if you take away horse power from dodge that will cause problems for the entire field since their too slow already.

Yes her father was a driver as well, my father owned a jeep dealership and was their sponsor at one point in the late 90’s

i live 20 min from the orange county raceway, my cousin was a driver there as well, but she died 10 years ago this month, barbara luce, theres a memorial set up for her at the bar at the track.
