Historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a fitting location for the return of the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series to ESPN with the running of the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard on Sunday, July 29. Race coverage will begin at 1 p.m. ET with the pre-race NASCAR Countdown program.
ESPN, which has televised more NASCAR Cup races than any other network, will air its first Cup event since 2000. ESPN and ESPN on ABC will have live coverage of the final 17 races of the 2007 season, including all 10 races in the Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup on ESPN on ABC.
Brent Musburger will host ESPN’s coverage from Indianapolis. Dr. Jerry Punch will handle play-by-play for the race, joined in the booth for expert analysis by 1989 NASCAR Cup champion Rusty Wallace and two-time NASCAR champion crew chief Andy Petree. Pit reporters will be Allen Bestwick, Dave Burns, Jamie Little and Mike Massaro. Two-time NASCAR champion crew chief Tim Brewer will report from the ESPN DISH Tech Center.
ESPN’s Suzy Kolber will host NASCAR Countdown at Indianapolis, joined by analyst Brad Daugherty in the ESPN Pit Studio.
ESPN’s coverage from Indianapolis Motor Speedway will include live coverage of NASCAR NEXTEL Cup qualifying at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 28, and Happy Hour final practice at 3:30 p.m.

espn sucks, just let DW and fox call the cup races full season, or atleast brign DW hammond and larry to the tnt wide open coverage all year. all the others blow and have too many commercials.
Benny are you serious? I HATE DW in the booth, all he does is kiss a few drivers asses
and question everything else, and enough talkin bout his damn brother already!
Mike Joy could go and I wouldn’t mind and Larry would be good alongside Tim Brewer as
two crew chiefs on the set.
You want a damn good announcer list? I am glad NASCAR is back on ESPN for one main reason,
the return of the great Dr. Jerry Punch. All that is missing is Parsons(RIP), Jenkins,
Ned Jarret, or even Buddy Baker. You can’t top any of those in the booth.
ESPN gets my vote as long as there is no BOOGITY, BOOGITY, BOOGITY.
that’s just gay.
What happened to the no comercial thing or at least a split screen..
Sorry DW fans but i agree this dumber than dirt approach the waltrip bros take is lame at best..smart up DW not dumb down.
