The Music City Motorplex will honor Adam Petty, who was killed in 2000 while practicing for a Busch Series race, during the 25th annual All-American 400. The All-American 400, scheduled for Nov. 2-4, is an ASA Late Model Series race which pits stockcar drivers from the North and South against one another.
Pattie Petty said she and her husband, Kyle Petty, were honored by the motorplex’s decision to name the race for their son. The Adam Petty Memorial All-American 400 will benefit the Victory Junction Gang Camp.

That’s what’s so great about our sport. 7 years later, they are still remembering this young man by honoring his memory this way. He wasn’t Dale Earnhardt or Allen Kuliwicki, but he was a driver, so just as important. This is really refreshing to read in the midst of all of the Silly Season news…….
Living in the past……..
It’s called honoring those we lost in the sport.
I think it is a wonderful thing, and not living in the past. The children that go to that camp are very much real and alive now they are the ones who will get the best part of this. What a great thing!!! KUDOS TO THEM!!!
