Ted MusgraveFormer Craftsman Truck Series champion Ted Musgrave, who was parked during last weekend’s race at the Milwaukee Mile, will also miss Saturday night’s race at Memphis Motorsports Park, NASCAR officials said.

During the race Friday night, Musgrave and rookie Kelly Bires were involved in an accident early in the event. Immediately afterward, Musgrave restarted his truck, ran down Bires and drove his truck into the wall in retaliation.

NASCAR parked Musgrave, driver of the No. 9 Toyota, for the remainder of the race at that time.

On Wednesday, NASCAR official decided to suspend Musgrave through July 3, effectively parking him through this weekend’s race at Memphis. Additionally, Musgrave was penalized 50 championship driver points, fined $10,000 and placed on probation until Dec. 31.

This is what fans have been asking for. On track incidents and cheating in Nascar can be curbed by sitting people for races. Nobody wants to sit out of a race. Points and money do not get it done, missing races will.

I agree. If NASCAR wants to send the message that this kind of stuff isn’t going to be tolerated, sitting drivers is the only way to get that message across to them. Personally, as long as you keep it on the track where it won’t involve unprotected crew members, I’m all for retaliation.

What’s funny is that they can’t sit Cup drivers for retaliation with their car, but they can sit truck drivers for it… What happened to Carl when he spun out Smoke on pit road? I don’t think he got suspended, and I don’t remember much of anything happening.

This is what should of happened to Kurt Busch, What he did was far more dangerous than what ted did.

I’ve been a big fan of Ted’s since he started racing in the late 1970’s along with his older bother Tom. His Dad Elmer raced late models, USAC, ARCA and some NASCAR races from the 1950’s- 1970’s. All gentlemen. Like anyone else, push ‘em and you’ll get an ass kicking. Last week Ted let an idiot really get to him. Totally out of character for him. I was surprised at first having been around this guy for some time. He and his wife beat bouts with cancer. He got jacked by Jack Roush. If he can get through crap like that, he can get through anything. I guarantee you that Ted is sorry. It’ll crush him to sit at home watching someone else drive his truck on raceday. It won’t happen again. Ted gets it.

this shit is getin stupid. nascar enforces their rules in any series cept the cup level. an it does kinda go back to wat kurt did. las weekend at the local track i race at drivers go into it on the track an strarted playin bumper cars on pit road to the point that the cops had their guns drawn at one of the drivers. it was almost the same thing as the kurt busch deal cept the other car was on jack stands. well guess wat he is suspended indefinately. sombody made the comment that money aint enough. i think ure rong to a point because u kno roger penske and his checkbook had somthin to do wit kurt not bein suspended. and ted gets sat out cuz he hit somone else on the track after they crashed???? yea he should be suspended but wen does nascar realize that these rules apply for the cup guys too? thats my point.

I agree. Ted doesn’t have Roger P pulling strings for him. Strech, NASCAR gets it when the fans stop buying tickets to the track events and souvenir sales drop off the charts.
