I don't see anything on this thread that's against our rules.
Debates such as this when people are passionate about their driver, etc...is bound to ruffle feathers and heat up an argument. All we ask is to have some respect for each other. Most of the time that is what happens here and that's what we want.

If someone calls you a name or is inappropriate let ME handle it. Don't get off topic and start ranting about someone's behavior...just tell me and it'll be handled.
If there are some that have really thin skin for this type of stuff then, to be honest, go elsewhere.

Remember everyone...this isn't world peace, curing a deadly disease or stopping terrorism. This is RACING! It's not that big a' deal.

Ok...the Editor is done now ranting himself...back to the debate!
like i said autosport..u need to make a LOG IN place for this so people cant be annonymous and start banning peoples IP addresseses when they get on here jus trash talking trying to start stuff for no reason...this Jeff guy obviously has his panties in a bunch and gets more on talking smack to people on here than he does with his own girlfriend(which is prob rosie palmer)..hes obviously caught up in some FAKE world that hes god of all nascar fans and can tell people who is good and who isnt...this is exactly why im gonna stop readin this site..cause everytime i get on this forum you ALWAYS have people that get on here just to start stuff with that particular drivers fans..just stupid..act like a bunch of 4 yr old fighting over a damn dum dum...get a life
A login with logged IP addresses would be just fine with me, Darrell. You know why? I stand by my comments 100%. To the best of my knowledge, I'm not violating any rules, I'm keeping the language clean, not calling anyone any names like loser, etc (that would be you doing the name-calling, by the way).

To the best of my knowledge, Kenneth encourages debate here, and I don't see where I've done anything but represent the other side of your argument. If you can't handle it, that's a you problem.

Also, you might like to know that I am happily married to my wife of 5 years, Teresa, we have a 3 year old named Daniel, and another baby on the way in December. So, yes, I am indeed getting plenty of action, and no I don't have a girlfriend. Sorry to disappoint you there.

I never said that you personally claimed that Jr was going to own anyone. Please feel free to show me where I attributed that statement to you specifically.

If Johnson didn't do anything in Busch, I guess Dale Jr never did anything in Cup. Looking at my stats, in 2000, Jimmie finished 10th in points, had 6 top tens, and finished third for Rookie of the Year. BTW, he finished behind Kevin Harvick and Ron Honraday all while driving for a brand new team. In '01 he had one win, 9 top 10's and finished 8th in points.

And which point of the season was Jr running solidly in the top 5 this year? I see he made it up to 11th in points at one point, but no higher. He has an average finish of just a hair better than 17th this year. He's lead 366 laps this year. And while that's nothing to scoff at, if you want to even be mentioned with the best, you have to put up the numbers, and that's nowhere near JJ's 966, JG's 1033, Smoke's 929, Hamlin's 738, or Kurt Busch's 651. Jr has an average position of 12.1 this year, while the top 3 are 9.0, 8.5 and 11.1. So yes, it would appear that I forgot to realize that Jr was running in the top 5 ALL SEASON. I attribute this to the fact that hit never happened. Especially not ALL SEASON as you claim.

The fact is, I did my research and looked at the numbers. If you want to talk numbers, we can do that. When you say you are a Jr fan, do you know what that means? Fan is short for FANATIC. Do you want the textbook definition of a fan? Here it is:

"A person marked or motivated by an extreme, unreasoning enthusiasm, as for a cause."

Yup, sounds like Jr Nation to me! There are 43 drivers in a race for a reason. Of course every driver has their fans and every driver has their haters... That's the point. If it wasn't the point, they'd roll one car out there and let it run 400 miles then call it a day. And nobody would watch. The very nature of sports will bring out the overrated-underrated debate and the my guy/team/car is better than your guy/team/car. To say that a "true NASCAR fan" holds hands around the campfire with every other driver's fans is ludicrous. Should the same thing be said about the Yankees/RedSox? What about the Eagles and Cowboys? This argument has been going on forever in NASCAR and in all of sports, and it's here to stay, so get used to it. As long as there are Idol Worship stories and posts about Jr, there will be stories and posts about his overratedness.

Darrell:

A) No, I don't think commenting on these stories on the Internet is going to change a thing. Just like the Jr huggers that come here to say how amazing he is shouldn't expect their comments to somehow perform some fairy magic and make him a top-tier driver.

B) They can show however many commercials they want with him during the race. I Tivo the race and start watching about an hour after the green drops just so I can skip them all, regardless of who is in them.

C) NASCAR is far from being all about the equipment. There are plenty of cases of mediocre drivers in good cars still being mediocre, and there are cases of good drivers willing a bad car to a decent finish, either via their own talents or good strategy by their crews. And regardless of what you put them in, bad drivers are still bad in almost every instance.

BTW, "Shut up til u see what happens" can go both ways. Just because he's going to a better team doesn't mean he's automatically going to become a better driver or figure out how to stop blowing motors. As far as comparing him to JG, Jr couldn't carry Gordon's jock... He'll be lucky to be half the winner JG is (and I don't even like JG, but have much respect for his talent and accomplishments). I'm sure Jeffy will have no problem with JR taking the spotlight while he's winning races and fighting for his 5th (or more) championship!

To add to this last point , I remeber seeing on tv that Jr.s team had 20 sponsors under contract and that they had turned down over 100. I cant believe someone would let a sponser magnet like that get away. But I guess her and Max have all the answers. We'll see.

OK, lets say stewart has just as many as JR....so! I look it up but I don't have time today. He has 17 or 18 sponsers.
His on the track earnings have been all over the news you can ck. those if you like. The point was 1) Jr has made lots
of money for DEI, teresa has benifited from it. 2) Jr continues to get more sponsers and his speech does not seem to slow him down.

I am a realist as well.
As far as JRs talking goes, he has more sponsers than any other driver in NASCAR and they don't seem to have a problem with his talking.

On the track earnings $45 million. I think he has done a good job taking care of his step mom. We have not even spoken about merchandise sales. From some of the articles I have read he had one of the worst splits in nascar.
He does? You have some kind of numbers to back that up? Seems to me that I see Stewart in just as many commercials and see him hocking just as much junk as JR: Old Spice, Chevy, Subway, Home Depot, Banquet, Coke, etc... So he sells a lot of shirts and die-cast. That doesn't seem to translate into championships if you ask me!

BTW, I'm not a Jr hater... I like him just fine. I'm just a realist.

Those cars are seriously ugly. I hope they didnt actually pay someone to design that mess. I could do better in about 15 minutes. Heck most 5th graders got more imagination than that. At least Kasey Kahnes car looks good.

I wonder why they, Hendrick and Jr went with the color green for Amp when they can also go with the Amp colors of Red and Silver.

I was some what disappointed in the paint schemes and hope and pray the car, cars Jr race better than they looked today.

Of course, everyone has their own thoughts on paint and what goods, GOOD, but I was drawn to the green on white and blue on white.

Lets say this, It's not a car I'll go back to take a second look at again if walking by at the track. Not an eye catcher or eye candy.
