Dale Earnhardt, JrMotorsports Authentics is close to finalizing a contract extension with JR Motorsports and driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., who is the collectables company’s biggest selling driver.

“We’re down to the very small fine points,” Motorsports Authentics Chief Executive Officer Mark Dyer said Aug. 24. “We basically have got an agreement to agree. I expect that we’ll be signing something very soon.”

Dyer is negotiating the deal with JR Motorsports Vice President/General Manager Kelley Earnhardt Elledge (Earnhardt Jr.’s sister) and Vice President of Licensing Joe Mattes, who created the Chase Authentics apparel brand and most recently was with the NASCAR.com Superstore.

“Dale Earnhardt Jr. has put together a great organization,” Dyer said. “You’ll see them be right at the top as far as their licensing operation is run. You see so many things that you saw in his dad that you see in him now in the way he is getting his business together.

When is the 8 gear at NASCAR SUPERSTORE going

    on sale?! >:|

He’s leaving both Budweiser AND the 8 and yet

they still sell at full price.

Better question, why would anyone want a soon to be outdated item?

  3. 3 Sara, MI

no kidding, im selling all my 8 stuff

  4. 4 Andy

Um. Because believe it or not there are still die hard Dale Jr

fans out there like myself who still treasures all of his gear.

I don’t care if he switched amung 5 different teams in the future, I

will still always buy his stuff.

Budweiser didn’t walk out the door, THE CLYDESDALES RAN OUT THE DOOR.
    No JR - No $$$

MARK MARTIN IS DRIVING THE 8 CAR NEXT YEAR , IT WAS ON ESPN 2 LAST NIGHT ABOUT IT.

Just shows Kelley and Junior know how to run a business. No one is buying the #8 stuff out of protest. We feel we shouldn’t be giving Teresa ANY $$$$$$$$$$$$

If you are a true Jr. fan what difference does it make who he drives for
or what Number he drives The man is the man and if you choose not
to stick with him you werent a true fan to start with. The Man has
made some bussiness decisions that he hopes and I hope will help
his career. And moving to a team like Hendricks there is no better
choice in my book. The Equipment is number1 and the teams are number
    1 teams. Steven Landers

I dont think she had any say. He is in control of his brand dale jr . Same when he goes to hendrick.

She had say Craig. She could have split DEI 51/49 with the Earnhardt kids and none of this would have happened. Now she has lost her #1 money maker several big money sponsers and the only positives I can see are Truex and Mark Martin. She didnt really have anything to do with Mark joining on , it was the only positive thing about the Ginn buyout.

PEAKING OF BIG MONEY, I DO BELIEVE THAT THE “81″ KFC CAR WOULD LOOK GREAT AT HENDRICK MOTOR SPORTS

  13. 13 Justin

Good idea Albert…seeing Pepsico owns KFC , this could be one of Jr.s sponsers.
