Dale Earnhardt, JrMany drivers seem convinced that Dale Earnhardt Jr. will accept an offer to drive for Bobby Ginn Racing, even though Ginn, a Florida real- estate developer, is new to the sport, with less than a year on the circuit.

Ginn has been spending lavishly to turn the Jay Frye-run Chevy team into a top-flight operation. Driver Mark Martin led the Nextel Cup standings early this season and even after missing three of the year’s 12 races he’s still 15th in the points.

Martin may return to the Nextel Cup tour full-time in 2008, according to sources. But Martin’s teammate #14-Sterling Marlin is planning to cut back to a partial schedule, and Ginn said that would open the 14 car and its top-35 exemption for Earnhardt.

That would be so cool if Mark runs full year next year. Heck he just might get his first championship if NASCAR dont screw him over like last time. And I didnt like Dale Sr., but Jr. is alright and it would be cool seeing Mark and Jr. workin together.

I agree, Mark and Jr would make a great team but Ginn will then need to pay big bucks and get the stars a good team behind them and the over the wall cews can be bought. Jeff’s chamionship team was bought in 1999 and HMS had to find him a whole new team except crew chief for another year anyway. How many teams fat back been on now? Ginn can buy anybody he wants and he will buy out Tony Eury’s contract from Teresa too. Eury just signed a new contract with DEI. Ginn has so much money he bought a blimp to fly around Nascar tracks.

What a team… that would be cool. and Mark racing full time again I am all for that.. it just don’t seem right him not on the track every race.

So does that mean Jr would be in the 14? If thats the case, that aint such a bad number. And I wouldn’t put a word about anything Mark Martin would do, he is like a yo-yo always going up and down on his decisions. lol

i hate it if jr goes to ginn, with a couple of washed up teamates ,give us a break..and who is this ginn dude hope he isnt a fly by night operation ,jr s better off by himself, with engines from hendrick.

I seriously think thats a bad idea.. don’t think he will improve much from DEI moving to GINN but that’s just me.

money = winning, all you people who dont realize that are pretty much just ignorant to the sport…

Other than the geezers for partners, whats not to like about Ginn? That man sounds like he is running his operation right.

I don’t like the number 14 though… Wont look good on a hat.

  9. 9 gigolo george

The number 14 to me will always be A.J. Foyt.

Good luck to Jr.He’s going to make his own decisions wether his fans like it or not.

Seriously when was the last time a GINN car won? Please tell me cause I somehow do not remember.

  12. 12 Nascarfan4life24

martin should have won the Daytona 500! I think Martin is doin better with Ginn than he did with Roush. I think if Martin would go full time, he would do really well and win races.

  13. 13 Sam

I am not sure when the last time a ginn has won, but they are running strong. This might the best fit for JR, and bing mark martins teammate would be awsome for him.

    Ginn hasn’t won yet. It’s called being a first-year team and we’re
not even halfway into the season yet. But he IS running strong, and
that’s a step up from DEI. And his other options are Childress, who
is now teaming up with the very woman/organization he wants to get
away from. Or Gibbs, who wants him to change his sponsorship, which
is possibly a foreshadowing of the lack of freedom he’d have there.

I found it funny how some of yall try to make it sound like Mark Martin is washed up and will be a horrible teamate for Jr., but Mark Martin could teached Jr. so much stuff it wouldn’t be funny. Mark Martin may have not won a championship (he should have, but NASCAR screwed him over), but he is, and always will be, one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR. He is SO washed up that he has always been in top 10 of points and almost always finishing in the top 15 in races. And you guys say Ginn sucks? It is a starting team and running with the top teams? I guess all the top teams suck then?
