Montoya could be penalized for obscene gesture

NASCAR will look into whether Juan Pablo Montoya violated any of its rules by using an obscene gesture that was telecast by a Speed in-car camera during the final Busch Series practice Friday, NASCAR spokesman Ramsey Poston confirmed.
The Chip Ganassi Racing driver apparently was unaware the camera was being used for live television. NASCAR has fined and penalized drivers for obscene gestures caught on live television in the past.
- Stewart likely to be let off hook, Montoya under review
- Montoya gets fined and placed on probation by NASCAR
- Stewart in hot water again after uttering obscenity on camera-UPDATE 2
- Ambrose will drive Gordon’s car in first Cup start at Watkins Glen
- Raines fined, loses points for throwing helmet

uh, if i was up for a potential penalty i wouldn’t know that the camera was used for live broadcast either. why would an in-car camera be used for live tv? strange…
didn’t jr. get a fine for the same thing? i don’t remember correctly…
i seen it he did “give obscene gesture” you just dont flip off a camera in your car no matter what KICK HIM OUT OF NASCAR make him go back to open wheel
Come on as much as Montoya is proving to everone he is having a hard time adjusting to the car, which one of them drivers is not giving the finger to another driver. Hell if you watch Gordon and Johnson im sure they do it everytime they pass each other. To me that is not that big of a deal OMG he gave the camera the finger!!!!
dusty childers, for an obscene gesture you don’t kick a driver outta NASCAR but does deserve a penalty.
Stewart Flipped Johnson off on his last lap pass earlly this year, it was clear to see the Chevy Winning moment of the race. In fact I had TIVOed
the race and I was able to rewind and watch it few times. It was pretty funny and impressive that he was able to get his hand out the window and
give JJ the bird while correcting from being run up the track. Regardless he was not fined and it was very clearlly the BIRD!
Like we haven’t seen the one finger salute before..
Nascar is not fair with the penalties as it is.
-Chris
i dont want him kicked out of nascar cause of finger i think he needs to come up the ranks in nascar first before driving in premire series
oh and drivers giving drivers fingers is one thing the cameras may not see that but he should have had more respect for his fans
I agree with Chris,
Like we haven’t seen the one finger salute before..
Nascar is not fair with the penalties as it is.
BUT Nascar as well as many other tracks are
viewed as FAMILY EVENTS and this is not suitable
for our kids to see their heros do.
