Martin Truex, Jr makes statement on his apprehension and fine

Martin Truex, JrStatement from Martin Truex, Jr. “The incident that recently occurred in Daytona Beach, Fla. was in poor judgment and shouldn’t have happened. I want to apologize to Bass Pro Shops, the NASCAR community and my fellow employees of Dale Earnhardt, Inc. After testing on Thursday afternoon, some team members and I went to a local restaurant that evening. We had a few drinks, I was not intoxicated and we had a designated driver.

Afterwards, while I was standing by our SUV, a man walked up to me in the parking deck. He didn’t immediately identify himself as a police officer. I was taken a little off guard, but once I realized he was an officer, I fully cooperated. There was no resistance on my part in any way. I don’t feel I was being disorderly, but that doesn’t make what happened right, and again, I want to apologize for my behavior.”

    Sober people should learn to not mess with us drunk people unless we mess with you first. Hopefully Truex’s drinking will improve his driving… :x Maybe they’ll get him a Busch car he can race in Cup. haha. ok. ok. sorry. DEI needs to get him some effing cars.

    One other thing… Brian France drives erraticly in traffic, smashes into parked cars and various stationary objects and he gets a red carpet sprinkled with roses. Why such a big fuss about getting drunk at a friggin’ restraunt and getting pissed about some dude harrassing you? (Even if he is a cop.)

    Stupid cop. He should have identified himself before making any stupid comments suggesting a bribe. He didn’t know who he was dealing with, anyone else may have shot him. This shouldn’t even be major NASCAR news.

    what the press say about the drivers in the so called golden age of the sport when some drivers had been known to have a few drinks before they raced or took laps he was waiting to get in his ride home big deal

    Ahh TRUEX is a good guy he had to take a leak, big deal :). just like AXEL FOLEY said BRIAN FRANCE got drunk and smashed shit up look what happen with him.
