Martin says he’s still not a full-timer

Thirteen races into the season, #01-Mark Martin remains in position to make the Chase for the Nextel Cup, even though he’s only competed in 10 events. That ranks the veteran driver ahead of 22 drivers who have competed in all 13. Still, Martin said there’s no chance that he will decide to run the remainder of the races, this in spite of the fact that he has never won a championship.
“I don’t even want to,” he said, “so if I was leading, like I was when I missed my first race, I still wouldn’t. I don’t want to.” Martin’s position hasn’t wavered. It’s just that people don’t seem to believe him.

The man is 11th in points after skipping 3 races. thats unbeleavable. Its cool that he is still one of the best drivers out there and is winding down his career the way he wants to , having fun racing when and what he wants to. He might not have ever won a Cup , but he has done everthing else anyone could ever want to do in a Nascar career. 37 wins , most Busch wins ever , 4 IROC championshi[ps. And he is highly respected by his competitors. You dont see anyone complaining after the race that he drove them bad during the race. Maybe if he was more aggresive he would have a Cup , but he’s not that kind of driver.
Good for him!!! Racing with no regrets, I love it! And still very much in contention!
