Martin Says He Will Not Drive #6 in 2007
Quote selected text Published September 1st, 2006 in NASCAR NewsMark Martin on Friday said that he will not drive the #6 Roush Racing Ford in 2007.
“I’m not worried about next year, but I will tell you this: there never has been — ever — a consideration for me to drive the 6 car in 2007,” Martin said. “Everybody’s in this frenzy about what I’m going to do in 2007 — it’s just not important right now,” Martin said.
“What’s here in front of me is what’s important to me. I’ve tried to help these guys and keep the ship on track, and if we don’t produce then so be it. I’ve never once this year thought or considered driving it again in ‘07. I’ve driven it 19 years. That’s enough for the 6 car and me.”

Dude you’re close to 80 years old, don’t you think it’s time to think about retirement?
Oh yeah, a little over 50 is so close to 80.
Pssssh…
First of all he’s 48 and 2nd of all he’s been ahead of Stewart , Gordon And Jr. 95 percent of this season. Get a brain retards!
nipplash is the only true retard
at least I was close
Can’t he take the number with him wherever he goes? Mark Martin and the number 6 are synonymous.
Car numbers stay with the owner.
Martin is less than five years older than me and he looks like my Grandpa, and he’s dead! Once he went fitness crazy he put the age lines in his face.
What a great driver, though. Both last year and this, where he was supposed to be going out or be out, he’s still in the top 10! Amazing. Compare that to other retirees who just brought up the back most of their last year.
