Marlin expected to run the No 40 car in the Coca Cola 600

Chip Ganassi didn’t enter his #40 Dodge in the All-Star race activities because driver Dario Franchitti is still nursing a broken left foot. The car will be back for next week’s Coca-Cola 600 here at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, but Ganassi believes Sterling Marlin will be behind the wheel instead of Franchitti.
He was injured earlier this month in a wreck at Talladega, and has missed three Cup starts because of it. “It’s the same old thing — drivers think they aren’t that hurt when they’re hurt,” Ganassi said. “They think they’ll be back in a week, and so we all kind of said ‘OK, great, it’s going to be a week or two. I think he’s starting to realize that it’s not going to be that quick and it looks like Sterling Marlin is going to be driving the car here next week for the 600 and we’re kind of taking it one day at a time after that.” Ganassi didn’t rule out Franchitti participating in the test at Pocono Raceway in two weeks, or the June 1 race in Dover.

Atleast his stats are better then Kenny’s
It’s close George. Sterling started a few years ahead of Kenny. But right now, they’re sadly a couple of has beens that are taking up what could be valuable seat time for a young driver on the rise.
Why wont Ganassi keep Sterling in the car and run another car for Franchitti Marlin has much more Experience and deserves moe. He was running at the top a few years ago and now noone wants to let him drive for them. Sterling is a clean driver. Those guys that ran the Abbingdon shop ran out of money and he needs a shot with a good team and some good machinery. I vote Sterling to drive the rest of the year in the number #40 car. Rather than some dude that races outside Nascar in different type cares tell him to go back to the other type cars and let the guys over here in Nascar handle thwe Cars. ThAT MY oPINION. sTEVE lANDERS
I have an Idea, put Kevin Hamlin in the car. I mean if Chipper isn’t going to race him then why keep him under contract?

Who knows Chip is really hard to figure out as an owner, what i mean by that is if i had business like that and it wasnt performing well i would be there every day until it got turned around
