Frankly I’m surprised more deaths don’t happen like this. While at Martinsville VA last fall, there were many people on top of RV’s partying and acting stupid. Of course after 3 days of this, they’re feeling invincible. It’s a shame for this to happen, but again, I’m not surprised.

Im not at all surprised either! All that happens on top of those RV’s is partying and that mostly means drinking, and whenn you dribnk your vision gets impaired and if you have too much to drink, so does your thinking and everything else!

Well this man is gone he’s a person what if it was your dad or your hubby I think thik yall would be all surprised then some people open there mouth to much with out thinking this is a man and he has a family…

Yes, although the circumstances that stand may involve an increased rick for injury in such actions, you should still have respect for the deceased. I give my respects to the family.

  6. 6 Lee

I feel bad for the guy and his family,an yeah im surprised it doesn’t happen more often with the drinking and partying.

  7. 7 Dawn

Of course I’m aware he was a man who left behind a grieving family and who knows what the circumstances were. He could have been up there repairing a satellite dish or he COULD have been up there with a half dozen other guys on his 3rd day of drinking too. So while this is an unfortunate situation, I’m sticking to my guns that his death was a preventable one!

im sorry for the family and the poor man that has passed. And most ( not all) but i know
alot of deaths that could have been prevented but still you must grieve for the family
    involved

Im sorry for that mans family. I would hope NASCAR does something to prevent this from happening agian.(but i dont see that happening anytime soon)

Hey did you know you have to change the name when you reply or you reply as the person who posted ahead of you?

  12. 12 Haylee

Yeah I feel bad for his family ad everything but still you never know what he was doing up there

  13. 13 Butch

Why wasn’t he wearing his helmet?

  14. 14 Stacy

My sympathy to his family. This should be a lesson to all that go to the races and get up on their campers. BE CAREFUL and if you had too much to drink then don’t climb up there.

It is unfortunate that this has happened, but instead of speculating as to whether or not the man was drinking, we can all learn the lesson at hand. There are collapsible gates available, (I myself don’t have one) and they are reasonably priced. Think of it as a playpen for adults atop your RV…I’ve seen them in use and they are structuraly rigid and well worth the cost. While it is true that many of us stand atop our RVs and drink beers, to blame the alcohol, to me, is the same as to say that a spoon made Rosie O’Donnell fat.
Responsibility in all our actions is the best policy to prevent such accidents, but that doesn’t mean we can’t offer sympathy to the family and friends of the deceased who have been affected by this unfortunate incident.

Cue the duck, Benny. Aflac!! Only kidding! It’s a shame. Some poor guy was having a good time and he wound up dead. Can’t you just hear the NASCAR bashers saying it was a typical, drunken, rowdy redneck partying a little too hard for his own good? We don’t actually know what happened. We weren’t there. Could it have been prevented? Who knows? Like most of you, I’m surprised more fans don’t get injured or killed on top of these motorhomes. At one point in my life, I fixed semi trailers. I fell off one of those suckers because I didn’t realize how close I was to the edge. I fell 14 feet onto the concrete floor and suffered minor injuries. I was lucky. I tried grabbing the roof and side posts on the way down. That actually helped break my fall. We don’t know if this guy even realized he was falling! Somewhere his friends and family are grieving. Sad, very sad.

First I am sorry for his family

Second, I am amazed this is the first story I heard about this. Think of all the tracks, local dirt track, NASCAR tracks, everyweekend, all the people up on top of those things, I am thankful it doesn’t happen more often. I bet NASCAR starts restrictions on this if it happens more.

  18. 18 chevy_chica

*LOL, Grammer issues I guess, if it happens AGAIN

Personally, I know of 2 people that have fallen off RV’s during the races, both of them were at Texas…..one did take an
ambulance ride in a helicopter, but he was back in time for the Busch race the next day.

    RIP.

As a family friend of the 29 year old - how dare everyone speculate as to the wether or not he was drinking - he was NOT - he was there enjoying the race with is wife
of of 11 months who is also 8 months pregnant. It was a freak accident
    and tragic story
