NASCARThe NASCAR Foundation will return to New Hampshire International Speedway for the second annual Track Walk on Saturday, June 30 following the NASCAR Busch Series Camping World 200 presented by RVs.com.

Over 1,400 people joined together last September to walk the mile-long track in celebration of two very special people from the NASCAR community: Kenny Irwin Jr. and Adam Petty.

“We are so grateful that The NASCAR Foundation wants to honor Adam in such a great way,” said Pattie Petty, CEO and co-founder of the Victory Junction Gang Camp. “The fans watch the races on TV, but during the track walks they get to walk around the track and get a view that they have never before seen.”

The 2007 NASCAR Foundation Mile of Remembrance Track Walk in New Hampshire will encourage all fans to walk in honor and celebration of loved ones, family members and friends that may have suffered, lost their battle or triumphed over adversity.

Fans will have the opportunity to pay tribute to friends and family members by creating personal message tags to wear during the walk. Remembrance signs will be available at the Track Walk registration booth.

Net proceeds from the event will benefit the Kenny Irwin Jr. Foundation, the Victory Junction Gang Camp and The NASCAR Foundation.

“The Kenny Irwin Jr. Foundation’s Dare to Dream Camp is excited to once again participate,” says Kenny Irwin Sr., father of Kenny Irwin Jr., NASCAR Cup Rookie of the Year 1998. “It is programs such as these which allow Kenny Jr.’s vision to provide at-risk youth a chance at leadership, team building and relationship development — to live on, growing their dreams into reality.”

“This is a great fundraiser for the camp which will enable Victory Junction to continue to fuel the lives of thousands of children with chronic illnesses,” added Petty.

Fans can register online to participate in The NASCAR Foundation Mile of Remembrance Track Walk by visiting www.nascar.com/foundation. Registration fees are $30 for each individual, and children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a paying adult, but can participate for free. Participants are able to register as individuals or teams and are encouraged to raise money through friends, family and colleagues. In addition, walkers can also create their own webpage and encourage family and friends to support them in their fundraising efforts, along with tracking their progress and communicating with teammates.
