Labonte says he knows where he’s driving in 2009

Bobby Labonte didn’t shed much light on where he will end up next year in the Sprint Cup Series. He said that’s because he has nothing to announce. But he did say he knows where he wants to drive in 2009.
Labonte is signed with Petty Enterprises through the end of this season. He has been offered a contract by the Pettys to remain with the team, but the car sponsor, General Mills, will move to the No. 33 Richard Childress Racing car next year. That has created speculation that Labonte, who already drives for RCR in the Nationwide Series, could move with the sponsor to RCR.
“I don’t really have anything to say because there’s nothing to say,” Labonte said politely after his qualifying lap Friday at Texas Motor Speedway. “I’ve read [about my leaving] more than I’ve said, and I didn’t say that and it didn’t come out of my mouth. … In my heart, I know [what I’m doing]. But we’ve got to make sure it works on paper.”

The truth is that we will not know until Bobby tells us where he will be! I really like Bobby and I think he is one of the classiest drivers around.
I like the way he handled this. He didn’t stop any rumors, but at the same time he didn’t burn any bridges by naming names when nothing is official yet.
I dont know if he can be happy or not at PE since i’m not him. With that said on one hand he has made a lot of progress there and on the other they have a long way to go. I dont think one person can make the difference and obviously there are major problems within the organization.
THE DRIVERS ALWAYS TALK ABOUT THE FANS ,IF IT WAS,NT FOR THE FANS THERE WOULD BE NO RACING THEY SAY.
BOBBY LABONTE IS NOT FAN FRIENDLY AT ALL. I HAVE BEEN IN MR. LABONTE,S COMPANY ON SERVERAL OCCASIONS, AND HE AVOIDS THE FANS. I HAVE TRIED TO GET HIS AUTOGRAPH, BUT HE ALWAYS SEEMS TO ELUDE THE FANS.
MR. LABONTE DOES,NT REPRESENT THE SPORT VERY WELL. MAYBE RICHARD CAN CHANGE THAT
I’m wondering if JR/HENDRICK FAN is JR88 (or something close to that) posting under a new name?
I’m wondering if JR/HENDRICK FAN is JR88FAN posting under a new name? That sounds about what would come out of her mouth.
I’m sure Bobby will tell us when he feels comfortable about it. And I wish that Kyle Petty would just stop whining. He’s like the guy that brings his own bacon and eggs to the restaurant, has the guy cook it and then complains about the taste and quality of the finished product. Stop it Kyle. You look like a goof!
JrHendrick are you serious, Labonte is one of the most classiest driver in all of racing. Friday night he had an autograph session and it was suppost to start at 6 PM. With the McDowell wreck and the wall repairs it took 50 minutes longer then it was suppost to. Labonte could’ve easily cancelled this and not come. INstead Bobby showed up an hour late and still signed every autograph from every fan that was in line. Where do you say that he dosent care for the fans, when was the lastime your boy Jr,or Gordon, and Johnson did an autograph session?

I dont know when you were in his presence but he has never left a fan hanging for a autograph unless you walked up to him when he was buckling in the car, I have know Bobby and Terry for years and took shot of their kids and BOBBY is the classiest guy around the sport and does not avoid fans. if you approached him like you talk on here I would avoid you TOO.
