There were 124 employees who lost their jobs following the recent Ginn Racing-Dale Earnhardt Inc. merger, former Ginn employee Slugger Labbe said Friday.
Labbe was the crew chief for the #14 car driven by Sterling Marlin, but was laid off on Tuesday night along with most everyone associated with his team and with those on the #13 team which fielded cars for Joe Nemechek. Previously, Ginn had dissolved its Busch Series team.
Labbe was at Pocono Raceway meeting with teams and looking for work after spending much of the week calling on behalf of his former crewmen. He estimated that 30 of those former Ginn employees have landed jobs so far, but acknowledged it was a small percentage.
- Labbe takes over as #36 Crew Chief
- Labbe and Baldwin out at Yates Racing
- Ginn/DEI merger locks in No. 21 team at Indy
- Crew chief ‘Slugger’ Labbe leaves Bill Davis Racing
- All 4 court cases against Ginn dismissed

I hope they can find good jobs somewhere. I hate hearing anyone is out of work.
Well Teresa Earnhardt strikes again. Well I only hope that all of those that lost jobs will find new ones and quickly.
this one aint actually teresas fault. ginn is the dumass.asswipe watever u want to call him. he could have at least finished out the year an then shut everything down. wont that far to go lil bit less than half.slugger definately doin the rite thing. not only lookin for a job himself but for alot of his crew guys too.
well u can blame teresa earnhardt fault she could of gave jr want he wanted and also she did not have to merge with ginn racing it just go to show that she is out to make a quick buck.
As a previous victim of corprate downsizing i understand how they feel but i hope Bobby Ginn is homless in a year.
Im not sure where i stand on this one. For one, GInn over hired and bit off more than he could chew (or flipped the company to make a profit, whichoever way you wanna look at it.) I dont think we can blame the witch for this one. Its a nessicary part of business on her part unfortunately. The people who are talented will be picked up, the ones who are not, well they shouldnt have been there to begin with. Do i sound heartless? maybe but its all just how things are unforunately
Damn you Ginn. Read the article on NASCAR.com and you will see how big of an asshole this guy is.

It would be so easy to post the blame on Ginn but that would not entirely justifiable. Just because someone who makes the big decisions happens to make some big mistakes doesn’t make him an asshole.
This is unfortunate but this is capitalism and the type of society we have agreed to live in just by merely participating. So, that pretty much makes us all the assholes.
