Kurt BuschEven though 23-year-old Kyle Busch is definitely the hottest driver on the circuit right now, the truth is that big brother Kurt Busch had won more races at the same point in his career. Saturday night’s Darlington race was the 125th career Cup race for Kyle. Here’s the way the Busch Brothers’ statistics compare at the same point in their careers:

Kurt Busch completed the 125th race of his Cup career on 5/15/04 at Richmond
Kyle Busch completed the 125th race of his Cup career on 5/10/08 at Darlington
After 125 races Kurt Busch had 9 wins, 25 top-5s, 45 top-10s, 20 DNFs and 2 poles
After 125 races Kyle Busch had 7 wins, 37 top-5s, 59 top-10s, 16 DNFs and 3 poles

Wow! Kyle is catching up to big brother! If Kyle keeps going the way he is, you can crown him the Cup winner.

big deal, kurt is not the driver kyle is.

  3. 3 CHERYL

This would seem more impressive if you left off the rest of the statistics since the only category Kurt has the edge on Kyle is wins.

That is the truth! What happened to Kurt, you use to have the bad boy attitude. It went away after he took over in Rusty’s car…..

    Mikey Waltrip - 4 wins after 700 starts. l0l

BTW Congrats for Him since last week was his 700th start and not much mention was made of it (at least that I’ve heard), he passed Buddy Baker last week, and in 6 more starts he’ll pass Rusty, and in 6 starts where Mark Martin is not racing, he’ll pass him (provided Mikey keeps making races this season)

Another interesting comparison is the number of drivers Jimmy has knocked out of the way to win races and two championships VS The number of drivers Kyle has knocked out of the way to win races and NO CHAMPIONSHIPS!

i’m not a fan of kyle busch or johnson but even with johnson winning two championships he’s been at it a little longer than kyle and besides, 25 races you never know how many races kyle could win this year, I bet Hendrick is kickin himself in the ass for lettin him go, not even halfway through the season and Kyle Busch 3 wins Dale Jr 0, and I can tell you why because Jr aint aggressive enough, but that is a debate for another day. Back on topic, looks like from the stats above Kyle is better than Kurt, 12 more top 5’s at this point, thats a damn good stat.

Actually i dont think hendrick is regretting letting him go at all. You have to remember shrub left his team hanging at texas last year. No matter what you do you will always be remembered for the worst thing you ever did.
