Kenneth I have an idea, I don’t know how hard it’d be for ARS to do, but it’d be cool if this site would add a forum, that way we can debate and stuff like we do without tying up the main article comments, and it could even be used to have more talk about news from CTS/NNS as well as other forms of racing.

Just an idea.

well the motor in question came from TRD in High Point, NC and it had that nuch HP.

One Pace car is a cost of that car new plus the Whelen Lights and other crud they put on it, and that cost is paid for by the manufacture supplying the pace car. That is am expense that No manufacture needs to have. Following this the next thing will be other official vehicle type roles that they have with various other sports, and then Short track stuff, and then NASCAR Teams.

Personally for the NASCAR Pace car, I think that they should follow suit with what F1 does. Use a car that is pretty much a race car as the pace car. The F1 safety car is pretty much a German DTM car (well the actual car is not an eligible DTM model, but it’s built to those specs) NASCAR Should do the same thing, heck it could even be a slightly modified version of the current race car.

As far as the Big 3, here is something I have always wondered. How come people cry about Toyota, but those same people never cried about Dodge when they were owned by the Daimler which is a German (read as NON- American) company?

and I learned that the TRD engines that are going to MWR are different in some way from the JGR and Red Bull motors.

You didn’t know that? Cronquist builds the JGR engines for Cup and Nationwide, as well as the Braun Nationwide engines. TRD Builds the engines for the rest of the teams. I haven’t head that Red Bull switched to the JGR Engines this year, but I guess that makes sense with the improved performance they have.

As far as the differences, it’s just like comparing a Hendrick Engine to an RCR Engine, same manufacture so it’s the same design, it’s just different tolerances and different style/make pieces inside the engines.

Also when looking at the engine thing as a whole in NASCAR, you should be able to see the position they are in. They could make all engines equal easily, but then the same people that are crying now will cry that they are using “IROC” engines. They could go to a Spec Engine, but then you’d have people crying about they are using an “IROC” engine, and you will have Manufactures pulling support because they would not be able to have their own engine style. If you look at Stock Car racing as a whole (including Non-NASCAR) and if you look at the manufacturers and the role that they have had in Stock Car racing since it began, and even how the Current crop of manufactures cars will affect Stock Cars at local tracks around the nation in years to come. Face it we’re running out of late 70’s thru early 90’s Camaro’s and Monte Carlos, and well there are no cars being produced today that 10-15 years from now will be able to be Factory/Hobby/Street stocks.
