Kurt Busch responds to penalty by NASCAR

Penske driver Kurt Busch has issued the following statement regarding his fine and points penalty by NASCAR:
“I regret the incident that occurred at Dover and apologize to NASCAR, my sponsors, the fans, my Penske Racing team and Joe Gibbs Racing. I understand that safety is crucial to the sport and I accept the points penalty, fine and probation that NASCAR has imposed on me,” said Kurt Busch. Penske Racing will continue to support Kurt and look forward to racing at Pocono.

PS, “My knees still hurt from my meeting with Mike Helton…” Come on KB get your head out of your ass. He better be looking over his shoulder this weekend for the 20 pit crew. Some of thos guys might want to have a little pillow party with him. I swear we are becoming more and more like the WWE. What’s next Bruton Smith challenging Brian France to a grudge match? Loser gets his head shaved or something stupid like that.
I am royaly P/O that Kurt Busch can pull that crap and get away with murder.
The safety of a pit crew was challenged by the hands of Kurt and he neededs to be punished severly.
After reviewing the tape, it was quite opbvious that Kurt tried to force shut the door on
Tony Stewert after the turn. I was deliberate and NASCAR needs to stick
with the penalty that it had imposed.
If NASCAR doesn’t punish the dumb*SSes that ruin NASCAR, then might
as well get ready for more road rage.
this aint even on kurt no more. this is NASCAR playin daredevil god wit the lives of the pitcrews. i bet that jackman is more pissed at nascar than kurt at this point. i dont care who died safety dont need to be _______ wit. especially after all that bs nascar spits about how much they care bout the drivers and teams an all. tony was rite nascar is like pro wrestling. id laugh if noone showed up to pocono. not like it gonna happen but if it did it would send a message to nascar to stop ______ around wit the safety of all of us.
Ya know, this is about as low as it gets. KB didn’t get into any more trouble with Nascar than the other drivers who had illegal cars. So let me get this strait… you can have an illegal car and be on probation OR you can almost KILL someone and just be on probation… if that is the case, I hope Tony’s revenge is sweet!
I agree with everyone here so far. I don’t understand why cheating gets a crew chief suspended but a driver can enganger people on pit road. It just doesn’t make sense. It’s seems it’s all about Penske and his money.
For everyone wishing vengeance from the 20 on the 2, just a lil reminder that Tony is still on probation as well. Just b/c the guy jumped on the hood didn’t make it that close. I don’t think the 20 should do anything to the 2 either. This is not between the 2 of them at this point. Nascar is the one that has screwed up. I sure hope Tony is the bigger person in this now and doesn’t do something stupid.

You guys and gals are right. This incident isn’t between the 2 and 20 anymore. I am completely dis-satisfied with NASCAR’s decision on this one. I am so hooked on keeping up with the sport that I am going to continue to watch. But I’m still not very happy with the outcome here.
You know a police officer has the right to use Deadly Force if someone is coming at them with an automobile, yet they hand out the same penalty as was given for some unapproved wing brackets. Come on get real guys.
aint tryin to jump on no one up here but whether it was life threatening or not they should not allow people to play bumper cars on pit road wen people are tryin to work on them. i been in the position tonys jackman was in. it wasnt intentional at all for me but the danger was still at its maximum. been hit before an whether or not u got saftey gear on or not it still hurts like hell. some incidents cant be avoided but the dover incident was 100% avois=dable. that is the point of why kurt should be suspended.
Intentional or not, he shouldn’t of done it. And the penalty should
be more than this. I don’t care if he had to sit out the rest of Dover
and is losing about a race’s worth of points by way of the 100 pt
penalty. He should lose that, PLUS about two or three more races.
Sad thing is, I can’t be as angry about it as I would normally be.
Cuz, well, we all knew Mike Helton is the car owners’ b__ch. Or
atleast you should of. I think I’m about done with Nascar now, and
that really sucks. But I just can’t stand to watch it anymore, it’s
so ridiculous.
And I really hope Tony is the bigger man here [[please don't be so
childish as to make fat jokes]] and doesn’t take action on the track,
because that’s sinking just as low and there’s no point in that.
Anyone who would wish injury on any driver for any reason is not a
real fan of the sport, period.
This is by far the dumbest thing that NASCAR has done. How could they let him get away with almost hitting a guy, which is what they are doing by allowing him to drive. Probation and a fine, whoop-t-do. I am disgusted, he has shown in the past that he is wreckless and is still showing that he is. Now we know why he is. They let him get away with it.
Eury Jr. gets fined 100,000 and 6 races for using an unapproved bracket and Kyle could have killed someone and he gets the lesser fine…..that is crazy! I don’t understand what Nascar was thinking……………I saw in an interview that Kurt called Tony the Rosie ODonnell of Nascar………He hasn’t lost his arrogance through all of this.

As much as NASCAR polices the pit road, this should have been a no brainer. But I am sure there was some lawyers thrown in and gray lines that saved Kurt’s rear end. I don’t like Tony but damn, I do feel for the position that he is in for revenging the incident. This weekend I will pray that he takes out Kurt and demolishes his car to the point that he can’t continue.
I repeat, Tony is on probation to so if he does do something there will be consequences for him as well.
Fate300m, don’t make things personal. I actually watched it on a 60″ plasma w/a DVR. Me & 13 other devout racing fans re-winded it, paused it, debated it & came to the same conclusion. The guy was already on the hood before Kurt came banging in on Tony. That doesn’t make what Kurt did right but to exaggerate the issue is totally pointless. After all these are big boys who know the potential danger of being over the wall. How many times have we witnessed a tire just sitting on the wall get flung by a car into a heap of people behind the wall? Regardless of it being intentional or not. Those are the risks involved. I REPEAT, I DO NOT AGREE W/KURT’S RAGE ON PIT ROAD.
Breanna, I’m not worried about the current state of Nascar’s ethics since they let me down w/all the bogus yellows they threw out earlier in the season that even Tony questioned & got put on probation for. No, I think this whole debacle about Kurt is just gonna make for some great racing on t.v. myself (or it will be very boring). We’ll see.

You have a very inventive imagination. Anyone who has ever debated a topic with me on here knows I don’t resort to name calling to get my point across. Nor do I resort to constant personal attack, but I’m afraid I find myself waist deep in one right now. Also, I didn’t spin anything right now. I made a factual personal attack.

There are many people I respect on here and I think that respect is returned by some of those same people, regardless of our disagreements on topics.
