Actually 8 billion is not 8 billion no matter how you look at it. If 1/2 of that 8 Billion is tied up in stocks, lets for example say it's tied up in stocks costing $25 a share. That is 160,000,000 shares. Now lets say that stock drops to $5 a share, that is a loss of $3,200,000,000. Ok so say he sells that stock at $5 a share instead of risking it going lower, well now his 8 billion magically became 'only' 4.8 Billion. Assets do mean a lot. I own some shares of a few different kinds of stock, that are counted in my Net Worth so if you do one of those Forbes things on me it'll make it look like I am richer then I really am because I own some stocks.

It sounds crazy, but I always save big money at Menards. Menards would be a cool choice but Pappy John is more interested in his kid's driving career at this time. With all the money John has he can't buy talent for his kid. I just hope the next series sponsor doesn't change names like others do on a regular basis.
I think you take skill as cockyness. Logano is alot like Kyle. I agree DEI will be a mesuem but a sad one. There have been other drivers to skip the Busch series and do just fine in cup. You have to remember Logano has been doing this since he was 5....
ok, i dont know of one driver in the last 15 years who has come to the Cup level without any experience in the professional levels being ARCA, Truck, or Nationwide. it just does not happen. you have to have experience to race with these guys at these speeds. I have heard this before and you know what I have seen it first hand with one my cousin Brett, he can race anything with wheels and has won everything there is to win with over 800 wins and i cant count the championships. He came to Daytona to race in the Cup series and crashed and walked away. Then their was Steve Kinser hired by Kenny Berstein to race in the Cup series and I love Steve he is a racers racer. a half a dozen races I think and he walked away. thats just two that I know of. We all raced when we were kids and some are gifted and some are not. just because Joey raced midgets since he was 6 does not mean he can race cup. I when to the Rock with Greg and Tony and yeah he beat Kenny, not by much but he beat him and led the whole race and alot of that was the equipment he was in too.he is very talented but to throw him to the wolves at 18 is crazy.ask anyone around that knows NASCAR and they will tell you the same. This is a JD Gibbs move and his father didnt even think it was a good thing so what does that tell you?

With all the money Menard has and all his ties to racing, he's the kind of guy/sponsor that could easily sponsor the series. I just hate to see Craftsman /Sears walk away.

Nardelli left Home Depot for Chrysler not the other way around. Maybe I'm confused and you meant maybe they shouldn't have let Chrysler get him? It does make no sense to shell out that kind of money and then have to lay people off. This year hasn't been kind to any of us and I've been on that side. I was laid off in January, it took me two months to find a job. I took a SUBSTANTIAL pay cut just to have a job with benefits because my spouse was laid off two days before me. His job will never be there for him and at his age he won't find another one with what he had. Long story there but it's typical of the crap that is going on in our society right now--and before anyone says get an education--we both have college degrees. I worked in the mental health field and got laid off. He worked in higher education managing facilities.

i don't see Home Depot being around in this sport much longer, between store closings and lay offs it a real kick in the face to the employees. people don't know how a company can shell out 25 million a year for a sport and then claim they cant pay their employees. i guess that's what they get for hiring the guy from Chrysler

Sounds to me like Home Depot is scaling way back and I bet they aren't a primary on the #20 next year either, maybe a secondary. Apparently Lowe's has bigger and deeper pockets in this trying economy.
