Kentucky looks to buy New Hampshire track, move race

Kentucky Speedway officials are interested in buying New Hampshire International Speedway and moving one of the track’s two Nextel Cup dates to the Bluegrass state.
Jerry Carroll, the chairman of Kentucky Speedway, visited with NHIS owner Bob Bahre during Sunday’s race.
“We love this sport,” said Carroll, who first expressed an interest in NHIS two years ago. “We’ve been trying to do whatever it takes [to get a race to Kentucky Speedway].”
That includes filing a federal anti-trust lawsuit against NASCAR asserting that the governing body and International Speedway conspire to keep events from non-ISC tracks.
Lesa France Kennedy, the sister of NASCAR CEO Brian France, runs ISC along with the NASCAR chief’s uncle Jim France.
Carroll said even if he were able to purchase NHIS that wouldn’t halt the lawsuit, waiting to go into summary judgment.

cool
I wouldn’t be against it…NHIS is probably one of the most boring tracks on the circuit aside from Pocono. Kentucky Speedway usually puts on a good show plus it has lights…
if nhis looses a date a lot of ppl would be pissed up here in new england. they have 2 dates cause they sell out twice. a shit ton of ppl up here go to the races, some in the summer race and the rest in the fall race. so nascar would loose a lot of money on that. they should try taking a date from cali or pocono, the other boring racetracks on the circut, but they never sell out.
kentucky ppl are stupid. loudon is a great racetrack. yea so wat the races get strung out somtimes but o well its great racing. yea like anonymous said, take a race away from cali. that race is boring from lap two till the end. i thik there were more empty seats than full ones at the last cali race. and no it wasnt cuz people were standin up. its cuz no one wants to go there anymore. kentuckys great an all but to go there instead of loudon. that aint gonna work. AND THE RATINGS CONTINUE TO FALL……..
nhis is on my boring race list, so do watever they want i wouldnt mine seeing a nextel race at kentucky
Kentucky should have already had a race. If noone in Cali is going to go to there races , take one and give it to Kentucky. And quit trying to buil;d tracks where they dont want tham. If you want to go to a race bad enough you’ll fly or drive to where one is happening. Hell we fly from Atlanta to Salt lake City to go watch Bonneville time runs. No big deal.
Kentucky should have a race they sell the busch race out every year and its ran same weekend as michigan thats just 5 hours up i75.
I go to the California Speedway races and I think they should
just keep the night race. Get rid of the the first
race and replace it with another track.
Not to mention then for sure the fall California race will sell out.
