The Carolina 500, ARCA’s May 4 race at Rockingham Speedway, has drawn the attention of several drivers who don’t typically participate in the ruling body’s races. Bobby Hamilton Jr. and Ken Schrader have recently joined the list of entrants. Schrader has won 15 ARCA races during his career.
Other notable entries have been filed in the names of drivers Joey Logano by Joe Gibbs Racing, Austin Dillon by Richard Childress Racing, Scott Speed by Eddie Sharp Racing, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. by Roush Fenway Racing, Michael Annett by Bill Davis Racing, Chad McCumbee, Bobby Gerhart and Matt Carter. Dillon is Childress’s grandson. Speed is [was] a former Formula One driver. Carter is the son of famed NASCAR mechanic Travis Carter.
- Schrader wins ARCA race at DuQuoin
- Rockingham to hold open test, fans welcome
- Logano dominates at revived Rockingham
- Rockingham to host ARCA RE/MAX Series
- Rockingham track to be auctioned

Schrader should run ARCA the rest of the year because at least he has a chance of winning there. He runs those guys hard and I think all parties involved like it. Drag old Tim Steele out too and let them have at it.
Ken Schrader will race anything anytime and will probally be racing wheelchairs when its his time…
ARCA is a great place for him to retire in and win as long as he wants to run.
Kenny is a true racer.
500 miles in an arca race? Seems long to me! I hope Ken wins it.

Nope its a Metric System race…. only 500K, which is about 310 miles.
I think they chose the 500 in the name because the Cup races used to be 500 miles, and a bunch of those races were called the Carolina 500.
Or because since its not being marketed as the 500K most people think its a 500 mile race, so more people buy tickets expecting to see a longer race then what they are really going to see.
Only you would come up with that tidbit of trivia, fishy lol
Good stuff old boy.
