KASEY KAHNE:

“I’m often asked to name my favorite race track. Atlanta is always on the list. I really enjoy racing at Atlanta and the other mile-and-half tracks. Atlanta has multiple grooves or lines which gives the driver a chance to move around during the race to find a line that best suits the car setup. Your car may be good on the bottom early in the race, but as the track changes the car may work better up top. It’s important to move around to make sure you are running the quickest line. A line that didn’t work early may be the right line later in the race. Just because another driver is having success with one line doesn’t mean the setup you have in your car will automatically produce the same kind of results.

“It would be good to take the Dodge Charger to victory lane for our Dodge Dealers. We want to close out this season on a positive note and be ready for Daytona and the 2008 season.”

* Kahne has qualified in the top-10 in all but one of his seven career starts at the 1.54-mile quad-oval.

* His average start at Atlanta is 10.9.

* Kahne and the No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW crew first established their dominance of the mile-and-half tracks by qualifying on the pole and winning the spring Nextel Cup race at Atlanta last season.

* The win at Atlanta last spring was Kahne’s first of six victories in 2006. He has four top-five finishes at AMS.

* Kahne is in his fourth season with Gillett Evernham Motorsports. He posted a series-high six wins last year and earned a berth in the Chase for the Nextel Cup.
