“We made progress last week at Indy, but lost an opportunity to make more gains when we ended up in an accident early in the race. We plan to run the ‘06 nose and package the rest of the year, but we will be making changes and improvements to that package each week. We went back to the ‘06 nose and package to re-establish a baseline.
When you go in the wrong direction and keep trying to make that better, you can end up falling further away from the point where you were running competitively. Based on all the information, the decision was made to finish the season with the ‘06 package. We won races last year with this package.”

Evernham is being way too nice to the stooge that fed him all the bad information this year. As a result, his teams have struggled. You can’t make up a half season like you can a lap. Ray needs to make an example of this guy somehow. Litigation? Who knows? But if I was paying this guy and he came up with a bullsh*t story like the one he fed Evernham, he’d be sleeping with the fishes.
I totally agree with you! The guy should be fired…but instead he’s just on leave until they figure out what to do with him. This guy screwed 3 racecars, and one of which who was such a success last year. This guy needs to be fired!
