Johnson struggles to find speed in testing with the COT

Jimmie Johnson won the last Cup series race at California Speedway, but that was in NASCAR’s old car, and he and his No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports team struggled with the new model during the first day of preseason testing at the track Thursday.
Johnson was only 32nd-fastest among 49 drivers to make laps around the 2-mile track as he and crew chief Chad Knaus struggled to find front grip.
“We haven’t had any fun yet,” the two-time reigning series champion said. “It’s been a pain in the butt, so we’re hopeful that after lunch we hit on some things. [The Las Vegas test] was difficult. At the end of it we got on the right track and finally found the speed that we needed for the car and the balance, but we’re still searching this morning. And we have had a long morning already.”
Johnson said his Chevrolet was “not driving worth a damn.”
“If I had the answer, we’d fix it,” Johnson said. “We’re working hard on it. The car has had a major push in it. It’s early. We’ve got a lot of time to figure stuff out and teammates to lean on now that were on break and try to figure out what’s going on.”

He’ll get it right when the time is right. I’d bet my bottom dollar on that.
Here we go again with the complaining…oh my car isn’t right…blah blah blah!!! Who cares Everyone at hendrick (even JUNIOR, god he sucks!!) is gonna crash and burn sometime and I HOPE ITS THIS YEAR!!!!!
Jeff and Junior were in the top 15, why can’t they copy those setups for a starting point?

that was my next thought after my previous one- they’re probably holding back so they can blow everybody’s wings off in the race.
i was at the track today and the 24 was done and put away about two hours befor the outher three guys. the hole team ran aton of laps.
I was at the test as well, It seemed to me the whole Hendrick team as a whole was off, with Gordon and jr being the quicker of the group. I’m sure they’ll get it by the Feb 22-24 weekend
i have been a jr fan from the beginning, never liked hendrick. But still like Jr if history shshiows they will definately be there at the end
JJ needs to put that TC on his Test cars so he will not have any problems.

TC ?? Is JJ using Traction control ?? I thought that was illegal to use, but if he needs it I guess Hendrick will get it for him. lol lol lol
