Defending NASCAR Nextel Cup champion Jimmie Johnson says that his injured wrist is completely healed and should not hamper his efforts at Daytona International Speedway.
Johnson broke his left wrist in a golf cart incident in early December. He spent the offseason in a cast and does plan to take some precautionary steps for the Daytona 500 tests but doesn’t expect the injury to have any impact on his 2007 season.
“My wrist is good,” he said Monday morning prior to testing at Daytona. “I’m feeling good. I’m going to wear a splint in the car just to be smart and be sure, but the cast is off and [the] hand’s working, and everything is good. The timing was perfect. [I] got the offseason to heal up, and I’m ready for Daytona.”
