Johnson overpowers field to California victory

Jimmie Johnson overpowered the field Sunday night in the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Auto Club Speedway, grabbing his third victory of the season.
The two-time reigning Cup champion was easily the class of the field in the Pepsi 500, leading 228 of the 250 laps on the 2-mile oval.
He won the race for the second straight year and again gave notice to points leader Kyle Busch and series runner-up Carl Edwards — the two hottest drivers in the series coming into this race — that he remains a contender for a third straight title.
Johnson, Hendrick Motorsports teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr., who finished 11th, and Jeff Burton, who was 17th, clinched spots in the 12-man Chase for the Championship that will begin after Saturday. They joined Busch and Edwards, who previously locked up spots in the postseason.

This is what makes JJ such a great driver and a great champion. He has class and he races everyone clean. When everyone is thinking they are having a bad year he is just lurking in the shadows. They always turn on the heat about this time of year and he is letting everyone know he is after his 3rd Championship. Great Job.
And lets not forget the most important event of the weekend. More than $500,000.00 dollars were raised again at Jimmy’s and Chanty’s golf tournament. Great Job.

has had one good race and youll are praising him like he’s is god, lets rewind to last week. That wasnt exactly a championship performance. This season JJ has not had half the year he has in the past when he took the championships. Also a true championship run was KB had last night, barely in the top 20 all night then to finish in the top 10 as JJ has done in past seasons.
Amazes me that if KB was to dominate the way JJ did last night he is cheating, but yet JJ does and he is a true champion. LOL LOL youll are just a bunch on whiney cry baby haters. Personally I hope JJ steps it up as he has in recent years It would definatley be more interesting with more then 2 0r 3 drivers challenging for the cup.

In 2006 his avg finish was 9.7
In 2007 his avg finish was 10.8
In 2008 so far his avg finish is 12.8
JJ does not get warmed up until the CHASE.

NASCAR wouldn’t even want Kyle as a champion because he is not the kind of person they want speaking for their sport. It takes a lot more than winning races to be a champion, it takes sportsmanship which Kyle doesn’t have. His avg. 12.8 finish is pretty good for someone that isnt doing good according to you.
Kyles avg finish is 9.7 so I dont think that is very good for someone who has won 8 races.

As far as jumping on the band wagon I root for all HMS drivers even if my boyfriend is on Jr’s crew.

As for JJ saying that he did on SIRIUS on friday and Knaus said saturday on the pre-recorded show he does with booty. thats why i put the clint boyer incidents in there, and please informed me when i have trashed a driver, there are plenty of driver i dont like cause they are puppets and pretty boys, but can they drive yes and have I ever taken away from there ability to drive no. got news for you, wins arent the only thing that determine a season, overall he is not having a JJ like season, youll are taking that as an insult and its not JJ can get the job done. Afterall hes 3rd in points so we know hes doing good my point is in past seasons he is up front fighting for the win more then he has been this year. Wins are not the only things that make a season.

The only reason JJ is in 3rd is because his crowd favorite team mate has had a few off weeks, as far them catching up to the COT how long do they need Roush has done it, and if my memory serves me right last year roush was behind in the COT when JJ and gordon and smoke and hamlin were doing good in it. Hendricks camp even said they were testing in the COT as soon as they had one built so, that excuse is lame. Face it a toyota with KB is on top and is running good. By the way HOWIE did you see where you did spell wrong, or did you not want to bring it up.
