Jimmie Johnson breaks wrist in golf cart accident

UPDATE 12/11/06:
“I was in a golf cart and the driver took a sharp turn,” Johnson said in a statement. “I wasn’t holding on tight enough, landed awkwardly on the ground and heard a little pop. It was a fluke deal, but fortunately we’re in the offseason and I don’t plan to miss any additional time.”
The Citrus County Chronicle reported that Johnson was laying on the roof of the cart when he fell.

Hendrick Motorsports driver Jimmie Johnson sustained a fracture to his left wrist Friday, but the injury is not expected to affect his status for NASCAR preseason testing or the Feb. 18 Daytona 500.
Johnson has withdrawn from the Dec. 16 Race of Champions Nations Cup at the Stade de France in Paris, but will attend the event to consult with Team USA. Doctors treating Johnson in Charlotte noted the 2006 NEXTEL Cup Series champion could be cleared to drive a race car in four weeks.
The injury occurred as Johnson participated in a charity golf outing in Lecanto, Fla.

Look i don’t wish injuries on to many people but i make a HUGE exception for jimmie johnson. Its so hard to believe that NASCAR’s dream of johnson being the champion only took 5 years. they catered to him for 5 years so they could make him the champion. debris comes out when hes the lucky dog, if hes close to the front but not in the lead they red flag the race towards the end so he has more of chance. his entire organization gets there way all the time. jimmie johnson and hendrick racing you all suck

I think Johnson fell off the gold cart as he was attempting to cheat by moving the ball closer to the hole and the driver saw this and took a sgarp turn and OFF THE CHEATER CAME!!!!

Chad Knaus was ejected from Speedweeks on Feb. 13. His penalty included a four-race suspension and a $25,000 fine for what NASCAR referred to as a device that pushed the rear window out more than three-quarters of an inch to create an aerodynamic advantage. “I would honestly say that losing the head coach of the team or crew chief or a leader to an organization is more detrimental than any points you could possibly take away,” Knaus said after the Daytona 500. “Obviously, we won the race and everything went picture perfect.
“In the future, that could be a very detrimental thing, me not being there. We’re going to do the best we can and see what happens.”
What happened was a streak of four consecutive top-six finishes with interim crew chief Darian Grubb that ended with a 30th-place finish at Bristol — Knaus’ first race back atop the pit box.
