Dale Jarrett will finally “race” the truck and Lowe’s Motor Speedway is offering a special two-day ticket package for just $44 so fans can be on hand Saturday night, May 17, when Jarrett’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered Tour” culminates at the Sprint All-Star Race.
Those are just two of several events and promotions that officials from UPS and Lowe’s Motor Speedway announced Wednesday in preparation for the 1999 Sprint Cup champion’s final career start.
Jarrett unveiled the #44 UPS Toyota Camry he will drive in the Sprint All-Star Race which features a special paint scheme that pays tribute to several of the North Carolina native’s career accomplishments. The unveiling marked the first time Jarrett viewed the metallic-gold design which unites the past with the present. The car displays design elements from both Jarrett’s current #44 UPS Camry as well as the #88 Quality Care entry that he drove during the 1999 championship season.
But, before Jarrett straps into the #44 UPS Toyota Camry for the final time, he’ll do something fans have eagerly anticipated, he’s going to “race” the truck. After Jarrett is introduced prior to the Sprint All-Star Race, he will step into the UPS Race Truck from the UPS ad campaign and take one lucky fan for a ride around the 1.5-mile superspeedway.
In honor of Jarrett and in appreciation of the fans who have supported him, Lowe’s Motor Speedway officials have created “DJ’s Deal,” a special Friday-Saturday (May 16-17) All-Star Weekend ticket package for only $44. The “DJ’s Deal” package and tickets for all May events at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, including the May 17 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race and the May 25 Coca-Cola 600, can be purchased by calling 1-800-455-FANS or online at www.lowesmotorspeedway.com.

I wanna see him race a UPS sponsored Craftsman truck, maybe against Denny Hamlin in a FedEx one, and somebody in a DHL one, and a USPS one.
Im for that Fisha, what a good PR deal that would be. But of course the race would have to be fixed by nascar so Dale would win… Just think of the possibilities…
1 lap with a fan does not = a race

um, will that thing hold on to the banking. better put some doors on that thing
Umm gonesouthern… That’s why it was placed in parentheses. It was meant that way not as in literally race in THE race.
I’m sure he is going to go as fast as he can, with safety in mind. They obviously set this up with what was going to be allwed and not, etc.
It’s about time….. DALE! RACE THE TRUCK!! Woot
Should be fun to watch.
I met Dale years ago at a UPS branch in Syraucse….. and even then, the questions were : “DALE! when are you gonna race the TRUCK!?” It has been a joke for many years, and Im sure alot of fans are looking forward to it. Im interested to see how fast that thing can hold the banking. Hopefully its flamed, too.
Those UPS trucks look a little top heavy… Yeah, flames would be sweet.
i like wat fisha said. that would be cool
Apparently a bad attempt at it.
“GO DALE GO”
It would be cool to see him in the truck. I wonder if Toyota knows that UPS truck has a Ford engine.

If you’ve ever wanted a huge brown box with four wheels and 800 HP - buddy, have I got the vehicle for you!
Up for sale is the UPS truck that was used to promote the UPS sponsorship of Dale Jarrett in the NASCAR series. Those of you who are into that sort of thing, well, you may remember the commercials.
From the seller’s website:
“In 2005 we took on an incredible 11-day rebuild project to turn a real UPS truck into an 800-horsepower Nascar truck for Dale Jarrett’s commercial. A standard UPS truck got a complete overhaul from top to bottom including Ford 514 ci crate engine with 620 hp and 700 lbs of torque, along with 2-stage nitrous-oxide injection system that allows the truck to reach more than 800 hp and to perform low-gear burnouts and an estimated top speed of 150 mph!
All the long days were rewarded when John got to see first hand Dale Jarrett’s smile after completing his smoking burnout part in the commercial as well as some extra racing donuts and a victory dance with the UPS truck just for fun… This one-of-a-kind UPS truck can give adrenaline rushes even to a seasoned race car driver like Dale!!”
Noteworthy features include:
- 514 ci Ford crate engine
- 2-stage nitrous-oxide injection system
- Kevlar-lined fuel cells
- Holley 1050 Dominator carburetor
- Custom-crafted headers
- Twin MSD electronic ignition
- Custom-built Watts Linkage Detroit Locker and coil over shocks in the rear end housing
- Custom racing seat with five-point harness, full roll cage and window netting
- 4-wheel disc brakes
Sorry for the small pic, but when I searched for a larger one I kept finding pictures of comely young lasses in modified UPS uniforms. Pardon me as I take my leave…
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY FOR FISHA, LOL…
I think its hilarious that they used a BIG BLOCK ford engine to push that brown sled. Toyota must be doing back flips into a sake barrel over that.. lol
Showed the blog artical to my ups driver and he said his group was pooling there pennies to buy it.
Problem is he would only get to drive it 1 day every 7th week !@#$%
It also explains why he wants to run the truck so bad. Its probably faster than his Toyota.
haha i like what eric said about the truck being faster. but it prolly is because its american
