Jarrett not happy with Kenseth at Bristol

Dale Jarrett blasted 2003 champion Matt Kenseth after contact between the two ended Jarrett’s day just 45 laps into the race Sunday at Bristol Motor Speedway.
What happened in the accident? “I was trying to pass Kyle Petty and get in under him and then Matt Kenseth just turned me going into the corner. The car was good; I was having a good time. It’s fun racing, but it’s not fun when somebody does something like that. It’s not the first time, but it will be the last. The car is fine, it does its job and I think the racing was pretty good. But you have to show some patience and here we are only 60 laps into the race and somebody does something like that. But the car is very good and obviously does its job.”
Are you surprised that someone like Matt Kenseth would have done this so early in the race? “No, I’m not surprised. This is not the first time that he’s done something like this. Everybody has this great vision that Matt Kenseth is this nice guy on the race track, he is a nice guy away from the track, but he’s a rough driver on the race track when he doesn’t have to be. We’ll have a discussion.”

I totally agree with Dale, it’s about time drivers started speaking up about Matt. But he’ll be a big whiner when it’s done to him, remember Matt what goes around comes around, can’t wait to see it!!
When he provisionals run out I guess he can go sit up in the annoucers booth with Rusty and talk about when he used to be good.

Jeff races people the way they race him , that’s why the ending was a good one with the top 3 yesterday!

Why is that when Matt does something it becomes an issue,but when other drivers do the SAME things its no big deal? What because Matt doesn’t whine and cry and throw hissy fits about what happens?? He’s quiet and keeps to himself more? Oh well punish him for keeping quiet I guess. Let the other drivers act like idiots! Okay so yeah I’m a fan of Kenseth so of course I’ll side with him but I do like other drivers and Jarrett is one of them,and I do like the way Jarrett is handling it by wanting to go have a discussion with Matt instead of throwing temper tantrums like Gordon!

anymore its not well “everyone else gets away with it” and “if it was so in so they’d get away with it” hello everyone all drivers have their problems. This instance its matt causing a problem and dale confronting him, next week it will be someon else with a problem. Yea it sucks and by all means Dale has the right to speak his mind so he did, although I havent hard Matt defend himself, thats his fault! so until he does we’ll never know his side.
I agree okeegirl. It’s someone different every week, and if it wasn’t for this the the race wouldn’t be nearly as interesting. How boring would it be if they all just went around and around and never touched any one to pass.
I enjoy hearing other people’s take on things. this has been fun, gotta go.

who cares? If this was 10 years ago, something like this wouldn’t even be worth a write-up, let the boys race and have emotion whether you like the guy or not. Its racing and it seems like the new wave of fans get all jumpy when someone shows emotion these days, pathetic.

no but seriously, kenseth needs to start watching his back because people are getting tired of his stupid little antics, remember the busch race in Las Vegas? what was that like 11 laps into the race and he took out 4 guys? Its coming for you Matt.

Geeze…you guys must be new at watching Bristol racing. There’s contact there all the time. Didn’t Harvick spin a car out? This is news? What DJ needs to do is focus on making the races and getting the ball rolling with his team or he won’t be racing to do any paybacks.
Jarret is really gaining back his cool points… Kenseth is a complete dick on the track. He must have multiple personalities because when he is out of the car he really doesn’t seem to understand why people are pissed at him (tony, gordon, jarret, everyone he raced in IROC). Its amazing. He never says anything bad out of the car which pisses me off. Maybe he is just a passive aggressive wuss or has a different perception of reality than the rest of us. I don’t know. Anyways. Kennseth is a dick, plain and simple. F@%* his damn dog Lars too. I bet he can only name one Metallica song.
Did anyone happen to see the little segway they have into commercials during the race with Jarret sitting on the couch with that kid?

Well Maybe if DJ quailified better he wouldn’t be in the position he is in, or maybe if he had team mates they could gang up other that mean ole Matty Kenseth!! Oh yeah he does have team mates, they just suck as drivers like he will after a couple more provisional races! Maybe they could run in the ASA!!!

Kenseth puts on this goody goody routine and Jarrett is spot on. He thinks nothing of pushing someone out of the way (not that others don’t mind you!) to gain a position.
Jarrett may be an old codger be he’s a class act all the way!!

well let’s see in the vegas busch race he spun b/c there was a tire problem ever since the track was repaved…alot of guys spun and caused accidents! funny you say he sucks regarding the fact that in the same bristol race kevin harvick by all people crashed reed sorenson by spinning him the EXACT SAME WAY! why don’t you go to watching open wheel cars where absolutely no contact whatsoever is made and maybe you people will stop crying about NASCAR…end of story!
