Jarrett frustrated with weekly need for provisional

Using the past champions provisional to start every Nextel Cup race this season is not at all what Dale Jarrett wanted. But that’s exactly what has happened as Jarrett has not been fast enough to qualify at Daytona, California or Las Vegas.
Jarrett said his new Michael Waltrip Racing No. 44 Toyota team is working to improve its qualifying package, as are all the Toyota teams.
“Not something I wanted to do,” Jarrett said Tuesday on a conference call. “I understood the situation at Daytona, that was one thing. We didn’t even get to make an effort at California because of a transmission problem. Then last week, we just weren’t very good in the qualifying mode.
“I’ve never been a great qualifier. But that aside, [qualifying] is something we need to get better at. That’s just not myself. That’s all of our cars at Michael Waltrip Racing and basically all of the teams in the Toyota group. We haven’t been very good at that part of it yet.”

Boo Hoo!! Jarrett in the past blamed his suckee performance because of his crew chiefs (Both Todd and Brad Parrott at different times) and then last year he kept his trap shut because he wanted to keep his ride til the end of the year and then at Daytona he was talking smack against Robert Yates’s Cars like they were the problem….funny those car do quailify Dale. You ran you mouth so much about how Toyota is like apple pie and red white and blue as all the others, you back stabbed Yates and Ford after they carried your butt to get a championship and now you cry about MWR lack of quailifying. Mark Martin leaves a team winning and gets in a so-so team and puts up top tens and leads the points, and do funny comercials, maybe that’s what you and michael should stick to run commercials cause you can’t drive old man, you need to be put out to pasture you old fart.
Hey HUNKERDOWN I like to see you get out there and do it!
yea really drivin racecars aint like ridin a bike. this is all money an technology. hunkerdown. how bout u put 3 nextel cup teams together in less than 6 months and see how many races u qualify for. micheal aint the best by any means but he lookin at long term his equipment aint all that great cause it a upstart team. u dont see micheal an reutiman qualifyin in the top 15 an leavin dj in the back. shut ure damn mouth if u dont kno wat ure talkin about. cause we all kno the people that talk shit like u are the ones that cant do it themselves or dont kno anything.
Oh you’re a big talker on this forum Sean, I bet you aren’t anything but a little computer geek. Pull your head out of the rear end and look at what’s going on. Mikey never was a great driver, Reutiman isn’t cup material and DJ is washed up. Toyota got what they paid for, a washed up driver who they bought only for his provisionals to insure they’d get one car in the field. Waltrip is a cheater from Daytona or is your little mind not able to think back that far.
And yes and Susie, I don’t see you out there either, oh yeah you’re a girl, girls can’t handle driving in nascar, right?
Hunkerdown you trying to talk big to make up for your smaller things?? Ain’t happenin’ dude! They still look pretty tiny to me…kinda like your pin for a head.
Ok Guys and Gals…
Let’s get back on topic and please refrain from making things personal any further….
Real NASCAR FANS don’t badmouth each other!
i would get into it more but this is public material and i aint tryin to get kicked off cuz somone thinks they know everything. and jus to let u kno im a spotter and a crew chief not to mention the fact that i was a tire changer and tire specialist before that so i do know wat im talking about. but bak to topic. dj and the whole team will improve as the season goes on. nowadays especially because its about 50 teams showin up every week tryin for 43 spots. good teams will be sent home.
haha, its funny how people can get so serious and argue about a sport thats meant to be the essence of fun, come on now settle down.
BOY OH BOY………. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence…………… From the man that owns a ford dealership or used to………………… At least you and mikey can fly home together after you use all your provisonals . what handshake?????????????????????
I see where Jarrett and Waltrip did another bang up good job in qualifying. Mikey is getting what he deserves and Jarrett is proving how much better he is now that he isn’t driving that old Ford huh?
