Jacques VilleneuveWhat did you think of your first drafting experience? “It was great fun and really enjoyable. The car is great to drive and you can see that every driver has their own specialty when they are in the draft. I was trying to learn what to do and how to react to various drivers in the draft. When we were side-by-side with another car — that was challenging to learn what to do because of the ways the air reacts on the car.”

What was the main challenge you faced in learning to draft? “We mainly need to work on the communication when I am in the draft. There were a few confusing moments when I was out in the pack because there is a lot of lingo used that I am perhaps not as familiar with. But I really enjoyed getting out there today — it was a lot of fun.”

who is this guy and why do we care???

He is a INDY500 Champ and a F1 CHAMP, and trying to revive his washed up career! He will cause way more problems than
    JPM on the track!

He has never won a NASCAR race, and i thought you said he is washed up? So if that is really the case then we do not care.

    You’ll care next year. :-)

And, are you saying Nascar attracts washed-up drivers?

Come on, great racers want to win them all. It’s not about being washed up or retired from one series. He won those. He loves Nascar and wants to win a few there too.

Soon we’ll all be witness to another Nascar legend in the making.

Jacques Villeneuve is notable for winning the 1995 CART Championship, the 1995 Indianapolis 500 and the 1997 Formula One Championship. Alongside Mario Andretti and Emerson Fittipaldi, the Canadian is one of the rare drivers to achieve all three.
He is far from washed up, he is a race car driver just like any other driver. He just wants to race and NASCAR is attracting many drivers from other areas because it gives drivers more viability than the others IE IRL , Cart and F1. It is the same reason Tony races on dirt tracks, he just wants to drive a car.
He suffered an injury in an F1 race and was replaced by BMW. He is not washed up he is just going into a new job!!!
I watch all racing, if it is a truck ,open wheel, late model or , KART , not just NASCAR. There are many great drivers outside of NASCAR. You just need to expand your horizons to see it.

I agree with you Kevin, Jacques Villeneuve is a great driver. I watch all forms of racing, and he is on of the good ones. His F1 carrer may have washed up,but he is looking for a new challenge. I hate to see more talent leave the open wheel scene but maybe he can have some success

Wow! who is Jacques Villeneuve ?
and I suppose you guys call yourself racing fan?
I guess normal reaction from a few ,I’m happy to see and read
very good comments about Jv’s first Outing in the
car of tomorrow by some very knowledgeable Nascar people,

For those of you who thinks he’s washed out ,I say to you
get ready ,you will see a guy with very special ability ,
he will run in the top pack very quickly ,
he has skill above average ,
the bottom line, he got shafted in the political world of
crappy F1 ,they just don’t like real man who speaks there mind
like JPM or him, they enjoy little robot, ruled by sponspor,
    that’s what F1 has become ,
Now he’s entering Nascar to become nothing else then a Champion
of the series ,he does not need to race for a living anymore,
he’s just doing it for the challenge of Winning the title,
So! sit back ,watch him go and enjoy the ride !
