Jack Roush slams Chevy teams over testing

Jack Roush, a Ford team owner, ripped the three top Chevrolet teams for violating the spirit of NASCAR’s testing limits, naming owners Rick Hendrick, Richard Childress and Joe Gibbs. And Roush said that those three were using non-Goodyear tires for their extra testing. Two Chevy teams have just ordered another 100 sets of B.F. Goodrich tires for testing, according to one top crew chief.
Said Roush: “NASCAR, with Goodyear, decided we couldn’t ‘own’ our tires. They were going to stop us from taking tires home because they did not want us to test these cars. They were going to start everybody on the car of tomorrow on an even basis - saying there are four or five (major) tests, and ‘That’s what you get, that’s what you’ve got.
“I’ll name names - the Hendrick organization, the Gibbs organization and the Childress organization - have been testing these cars multiple times a week on tracks outside of NASCAR’s control with tires that were not Goodyears for the most part. The teams were going around NASCAR’s policy.
“I didn’t do that. But two weeks ago I hired six people and dedicated a tractor-trailer and gone public and said ‘OK, I’m going to get in the testing game too.’
“The minor teams don’t have test programs… which even made the difference between the ‘haves’ and ‘have-nots’ greater.
“The testing deal is wide open. Everybody is testing as much as they can afford to.”
Jeff Gordon said that it’s Roush’s own problem if his teams aren’t testing as much as Chevy teams.
“We’re not doing anything wrong,” he said. “We’re testing at tracks that aren’t NASCAR tracks; and we’re not using Goodyear tires.
“I would admit it’s definitely played a role in getting us where we are. And if the Roush teams aren’t doing that, that’s their mistake.”

Whine whine whine roush. just because your organization is lacking as a whole doesnt mean you go out and try to get teams in trouble because they used the rule book to their advantage. If you were smart you would have done it in the first place. BOTTOM LINE IS STOP WINING BECAUSE THEY ARE SMARTER THAN YOU!
I agree. Roush just got out done and he can’t deal with it. He’s lost his grip on being competitive, I think. I like what Gordon said too… “that’s their mistake.”
He’s starting to sound like Tony I’m a cry baby Stewart! Just figure out what your doing wrong and fix it. Quit snivveling about it!!
im a rousch fan and even i think he is being a big wine tit GO TEST so that you may have the upper hand (for once this year) and dont accuse other teams of illegal tests if he focused this much on his race teams he might have more cars in top 10
Jack Roush = titty baby. cowboy up and spend the money to test. knowledge is power, and comes with a price.

Jack, show them all how the cow got in the cabbage patch .Build your own test track and test when you damn well please..
i think the only reason jack is whinin about it is cuz he didnt think of it first and plus people from his team have been tellin the press that they dont test enough and jack dont wanna get embarassed so he tryin to blame it on somone else. typical ford problem. we used to own fords as our personal cars but they jus sucked. so now we got gm an a dodge. i hate gordon an i have to agree wit him on wat he said. it roushes mistake for not testin.
The manufacturer has nothing to do with it, if the owner is willing to put forth the extra money it takes to test then they will be the competitive ones week in and week out. Maybe if NASCAR didn’t have so many fricken stipulations as to what you can and can’t do then the sport would be on a whole hell of alot more level playing field. Take the power house teams out of it and give some back to the little guy or just scrap this stupid ass COT and make the current car a lot safer…

Fords do suck. I have owned my fair share of fords and will never own another 1 again!!!
Sorry to hear about you having to own a ford Nascarfan, Atleast you wont buy another one. I can’t wait till ford goes bankrupt.
Roush is a crybaby, he needs to just take it like a man and switch to Chevy or Dodge.

Jack Roush ALWAYS whines. it goes all the way back to the 1990’s when he complained about jeff gordon and ray evernham after they beat mark martins four tires when they only took 2. He cant stand to lose…and always whines and whines until something changes. Go toyota kick roushs ass

Shut the hell up about Fords and Chevies already. Chris, Ford will
never go bankrupt;; it’s called the Mustang. Nascarfan4life24, stop
bleating on about Fords suck, my dad will own nothing but Tauruses
and he runs em pretty hard sometimes [[being in the fire department]],
and the one still lasted over fifteen years, and that’s living in a
very country area with a lot of bumpy dirt roads, etc. While I am
definitely a Chevy girl, Fords aren’t always a piece of s__t.
I normally have a lot of respect for Jack Roush, but when you have to
resort to trying to out your competition desperation is evident. Cough
up the money, get some testing done yourself, and stop being a tattle-
tale when you’re the one exceeding the max car count for the last how
many years?
mustangs? yea those are a joke. my mother inlaw has an 03 and has nothing but trouble with it. she’s waiting for chevy to release the new camaro so she can buy a real car!!
