Is Bruton Smith being paid off to stay?

A Cabarrus County North Carolina commissioner considered an outcast among his peers, says the public has a right to know what is being done to keep Bruton Smith from moving Lowe’s Motor Speedway from Concord.
Commissioner Coy Privette released a private email, which lays out the incentives that are being discussed to keep LMS in the county.
Privette says the people have a right to know how their money, rumored at $75 million, is being spent.
He recently accused Cabarrus County commissioners of being mouthpieces for the Chamber of Commerce and “engaging in unethical practices” in their efforts to rename Speedway Boulevard to Bruton Smith Boulevard.

Would anyone be surprised that they’re basically paying him off to stay? Kudos to this guy for having the guts to make it public, but this can’t possibly shock anyone.
Of course it’s a pay off! What choice do they have?
they dug their own hole and Bruton is making them pay for it but as a citizen of cab. county i know Privette cant stand to lose
And this is how the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
Bruton Smith reminds me of Boss Hog with his dirty dealings with a corrupt backwater township.
Wasn’t Dukes of Hazards filmed in Cabarrus county…
No actually it was filmed in California. lol. Except the first few episodes that were actually filmed in Georgia. Bruton Hogg…might be Boss Hoggs cousin.
