Interstate Batteries Chairman Norm Miller says that his company will remain the primary sponsor on the #18 Joe Gibbs Racing Chevrolet next season. He is, however, open to other companies appearing on the hood from time to time. Kyle Busch was announced Tuesday as the driver of the Nextel Cup car for 2008.
“We’re on the contract for ‘08, and we are also open to develop some type of partnership,” Miller said Tuesday. “We’re hoping to get the best we can out of it all and come up with a good partner, but if push comes to shove we’d be delighted to ride with Kyle here the whole season. We’re hoping we can work all that out.”
Miller said the company would consider sharing the primary sponsor spot on the car for anything from six to 15 races next season. Interstate Batteries has sponsored Joe Gibbs Racing since the team’s inception in 1992.
