Hershey bars to feature Dale Earnhardt
Quote selected text Published September 18th, 2007 in NASCAR News
If you’re a Dale Earnhardt fan and you like chocolate, you’ll likely love the new “collector edition” Hershey bars that will hit the market in January.
Hershey Co. unveiled four bars featuring different images of Earnhardt, two Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bar designs, one Hershey’s Milk Chocolate with Almonds bar design and one Kit Kat wafer bar design.
The images span the career of the seven-time NASCAR champion, including an image of the No. 3 Chevrolet with which Earnhardt won the 1998 Daytona 500.

Whats next ding dongs, grits or dog food. She sure is milking this cash cow…
I say this is just why people hate Teressa. Let the man be gone with respect.
I know some of you will say “oh its just business” but this kind of money whoring is past business. this is just wrong. If this is how you feel also, let Hershey town know.
I personally have not Purchased anything DEI sinse SRs death.

I can understand some of the opinions posted here. However, another viewpoint is that this is another avenue for fans to support Dale via supporting DEI as part of the legacy he left us here. This just goes to show the reach and strength of Dale and the Dale Earnhardt brand. I suspect, like the King Elvis, we will see Dale Earnhardt items available for a very long time. And I’m fine with that. The man meant a lot to a lot of people as well as the sport. This is just another way to honor the man, and like I said, support the company that he started and left. I think some fans are just looking for something, anything, to give them justification to point a finger at Teressa. Dale loved her and that’s that. I’m sure Teressa knows better than anyone what Dale would think or want.

Nice post and well said.
For me I want to remember Dale for what he did on the track. His racing style and persona not his face plastered all over a candy bar just to make $$ and I’m sure he wouldn’t either. You can look at the items he authorized for personal contracts and see that.!!
As far as Teressa she married him for his earning power and still is collecting…

Have any proof of any such allegations?
This is INCREDIBLY tacky. Anyone who thinks putting Dale Sr. on a candy bar is “honoring him” is SERIOUSLY kidding themselves. Unbelievable. I made a pact to refuse to help anyone cash in on Dale Sr. after he died when I saw Earnhardt memorabilia going for 500% the normal price just days after the 500.
This is pathetic.

It does seem really odd that 6 years later a candy bar appears with his name on it…..unfortunately, someone will buy them.
I GOT BETS THAT JR. WILL WIN WITHIN HIS FIRST FIVE STARTS WITH HENDRICK, ANY BETS?!!
LIKE TUG McGRAW ONCE SAID” YOU JUST GOT TO BELIEVE!!!” I DO BELIEVE IN JR.!!!
BRING ON THE BAR!!!
GO DALE GO!!!

And I 2nd that statement. VERY nice post…
I’m tired of all dispicable Teresa bashing.
She’s been a straight, honest and upright woman all of her life.
And an intelligent woman…
It’s only been the past couple of seasons watching
and listening to all of Junior’s cry-baby narccisism
that he and his ignorant, misinformed fans have tried
their damnest to cast her as the exact opposite of what
she really is.
I have bought alot of Sr stuff in the past because my son loved the man…but as of the DEI split with Jr…well I just won’t do it anymore…looks like I quit eating Hershey bars too. Sorry Hershey but you picked the wrong side. Not betting against ya Albert….right there with ya all the way…GO JR!!!!
Thanks Cybill, I do believe that Dale Jr. is in a title contension!! Go 88!!
I love this idea…it’s great for people like me and my family that are collectors
of Dale Sr. and Dale Jr. I don’t know why people are attcking Theresa…I mean how
do you know it was her idea? It could have been one of the kids’ ideas and she just
made it happen..I swear you people think you know everything, and you don’t, there
is always two sides to every story…so go get a box of tissues and whine about it.
Still a fan of Dale Jr.
btw i was talking about the first comment…not those who still support:)
Well I have had about all the Teresa bashing I can take. I was a fan of Dale Sr from almost the beginning and I can tell you Jr is no Sr. Let’s think about this. Dale Sr owned the company and I’m sure he had a will. Did he leave the company to Jr. No! Did he stipulate that controlling interest would be turned over to Jr in 2007 No! Did he know who had the best head for business when he left the company to Teresa Yep. Going to Hendrick was probably the best thing that could have happened to Jr. Now he can have an owner that can tell him to shut up and just drive the damned car. His continuing problem is that he brought his cuz the crew chief with him and Jr still has nobody to tell him to shut up and drive. “Nice pit stop at Daytona Jr” Jr says he made the decision to stay out. Enough said. If Sr was still alive, he would have probably already run Jr off for his own good and he would probably tell all the Teresa bashers to shut the hell up.

BULLHOCKY….SR WAS VERY PROUD OF JR AND WOULD HAVE NEVER RUN HIM OFF….THEY WOULD HAVE CONTINUED TO HAVE GREAT CARS AND NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED.
As far as daytona goes he still finished in the top ten, even with the gamble on tires.
