Hendrick willing to give Johnson a lifetime contract

No surprise, if it’s up to Rick Hendrick, Jimmie Johnson will drive a Hendrick Motorsports racecar for the remainder of his career.
Hendrick said he is fully prepared to do whatever it takes to retain Johnson’s services for as long as he drives professionally in the Nextel Cup Series. Money. Assets. Car dealerships. And most importantly, championship-caliber racecars.
“My goal with him is real simple — to keep him with me for as long as he races,” Hendrick said.
“It’s a flattering comment, and I think I kind of knew that,” Johnson said. “But it’s something we’ve never talked about or put on the table.”

Ha, I knew it was coming.
Hendrick is a smart man!
Hendrick made that same offer to Gordo when he was the golden boy. He better watch out or some day all he will have is a stable of 4 life time contracted has beens.
Ya, he has, in his hands two Generic robots, God help us if Dale Jr. eats this same Dog Food next year…………….
God Help us All, as Tiny Tim would say…………………………………..
Dale Jr to kick ass in the 88 in 2008 !!!
Dale Jr to kick butt in the 88 in 2008 !!!
The reason Hendrick is doing this is because he is beginning to
recognize the reality of what he’s done by firing busch so he could hire
Junior.
Regardless of the phony “love-fest” that will be presented for “public
consumption” between all the drivers at HMS next year - there’s going to be
a huge internal rift over there in season’s to follow. The internal harmony
of the organization will be broken because of all the bitching and moaning
by Junior and his fans when Junior does no better at HMS than he’s done at
DEI. As Junior continues to fall flat on his face - the excuses are going
to fly.
There’s gonna be all kinds of factions behind the scenes next year because
Johnson & Gordon will give Junior no margin, nor should they. It will be
sink or swim for Junior - and those of us with “a brain” know he’s gonna
sink.
Due to the all the internal dissatisfaction that is coming within the
organization - Rick Hendrick doesn’t want to risk loosing his two best
veteran drivers - so that’s why he’s offering Jimmie Johnson a lifetime
contract right now - before the trouble “hits”. Gordon already has his
lifetime contract, so that’s a done deal.
Junior will continue to find himself on the “outside of the organization”
looking in - for the exact same reasons he could not be trusted with
sensative organizational information & business development plans at DEI.
Due to the vast expanse of daylight between Junior’s ears, he still has not
learned his lessons of the past. As Junior’s presence at HMS continues to
work like a Trojan Horse within HMS - people throughout that organization
will continue to grow unhappy.
Hendrick doesn’t want to lose Jimmie Johnson over the pending unhappiness
and disunity that is coming because of Junior - and i don’t blame him.
He’s merely trying to “shore-up” his assets right now…
Ricky old boy that was a truck load of crap you just unloaded.
Dale Jr will do his own thing at the Hendrick Ranch and do it just fine as long as the Golden Boy twins and there cheating crew chiefs will leave him alone.
Due to the vast expanse of daylight between the twins ears they are jealous as all get out of Dale Jr’s popularity with the fans. Truth be told if he never wins a race he will still be more popular that both of the so called veteran drivers put together. And that just kills them doesn’t it because it translates to vast sums of $$ in the lucrative apparel markets for Dale Jr. as well as knowing that he is the most liked driver in NASCAR.
It is not all about just wining races, other wise Gordo & Jimmy would be revered as much as Dale Jr. but we both know how much the majority of fans dislike the 24/48 duo. So you just keep on pushing that load of stink up hill and let next year take care of its self.

You think Gordon is a has been?
HA.
Rick/Bob,
It sounds like you both agree on one thing, its not going to be pretty behind the scenes
at Hendrick next year. Rick is smart to tie Jimmy down so we wont bail, never thouht I would root for Gordon in a championship battle…..
Mr. Hendrick is an UNBELIEVABLY sweet man–and apparently he’s a GENIUS! Gordon’s career will never go down the tube… I believe he’ll retire before he becomes like–a Darrell Waltrip of the sport and is just running around for no reason, really. Gordon will never lose his touch and as much as I dislike Johnson–as long as Jimmie and Chad are together, I doubt Johnson will lose his touch, either.

Read what I said AGAIN
” SOME DAY ” HE WILL HAVE A STABLE OF HAS BEENS.
Katelyn:
I hate to burst your bubble but ALL DRIVERS loose there touch some time and most never figure out when that has happened so they just keep at it to long. It is called ego.

I hate to point this out to you–but Gordon is undeniably one of NASCAR’s greats and ALWAYS will be. He’s broken a LOT of records and will continue to do so… He’s only 35. Most drivers don’t even consider retiring until they are 50. I believe he’ll retire before the age of 50, but He still has a lot of racing to do yet.
And I don’t believe that “all drivers” lose their touch. Mainly just those that were mediocre throughout their entire NASCAR careers. Jeff has NEVER been mediocre. He was kicked @ss since day 1–although it took him a year in cup to get used to the format, competition, etc. He DID win his first championship in ‘95 after only racing a short 2 full-time years in cup. And if I DO remember correctly–Jeff led the first lap of the Daytona 500 in his first start at Daytona. Talent. Pure talent. That touch won’t be lost, my friend.
Blah–He was KICKING @ss since day 1–sorry.
If he is such a pure talent why has he languished in the also ran box for 6 years since his last championship while Jimmy has burnt up the track and will this year as well.
A REAL pure talent could and would have been able to overcome , you think, katelyn.
It takes 3 24’s and a 16 to make an 88 and it takes a 48 and a 40 to make an 88, Junior to pound @ss in 2008 !!!
YEAH OK RICKY BOY, WE WILL SEE
I was gonna comment on Rickys “intelligent” post, but I couldn’t say it better than Bob. WOW
Give him a Don Corleone contract. Either his brains or signature will be on the contract. An offer he can’t refuse!
I am going to laugh so so so so so so so so so so hard when Dale Jr. falls on his face next year while Johnson continues to dominate with equal equipment.
Trey the Frey, I am going to laugh so, so, so, so, so ,so, so, so hard when you are wrong, like I said previously, if Dale Sr was kicking yet, HMS wouldn’t have a chance, ALL THE DEI CRAS WOULD BE DOMINATING, INCLUDING JR !!!
CARS

Hmmm… that comment is way off base. Maybe if you were a REAL RACE FAN, you would see that if the point system was the same as in the Winston Cup, Jeff would have had at least one more championship, maybe two… the new system, although Gordon himself agreed, is a good one, took one away from him…. Say what you will about Gordon… truth be told, Chad Knaus is the reason for Johnson’s win…
scratch that last word.. (win) more like Johnson’s success.
