Rick HendrickNASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick has issued a statement in response to NASCAR’s penalties handed down to his team for rules violations that took place last weekend in Sonoma:

“We are disappointed in NASCAR’s decision and feel the penalties are excessive,” Hendrick said. “Right now, all of our options are being evaluated, including out personnel situation and a possible appeal to the National Stock Car Racing Commission.”

“We’ll take some time to decide on a direction and make an announcement regarding our plans for New Hampshire later in the week.”

What a douche. It’s not like appealing is going to make any difference, anyhow. You’re appealing to the same person that put the fine on you in the first place.

Hendrick has nobody to blame but his two crew chiefs who knew that they were bending the rules. This isn’t NASCAR’s fault, by any stretch of the imagination, and there’s no reason for him to be disappointed in their decision. You think he was disappointed that NASCAR fined DEI as heavily as they did for a CoT infraction?

    FYI…DEI also talked appeal.

Oh, PLEEASE Mr. Hendrick ! Lets face it..YOUR foxes got caught in the hen house ! If the normal working man or women cheated at work ,they’d get canned ! Oh…I almost forgot , with YOU it all about MONEY ! YOU’RE just as guilty as they are…I think YOU should have to sit out of a race or two !

  4. 4 KK

It never ceases to amaze me how childish and immature so many of the people on this site are.

As far Hendrick thinking about appealing, all the teams think about it and sometimes they appeal and sometimes they don’t.

  5. 5 Joe

All I have to say is NASCAR wounders why it’s tv ratings are falling. And by the way I’m not a hendrick fan.

  6. 6 HoppyGirllllllll

SUCK IT UP!! You cheated, you got caught, deal with it!

  7. 7 Axel Foley

Welcome to the way it should be.

So, stopping unfair advantages hurts ratings? hmmm. Interesting concept. I guess promoting real, sports-like competition is not exciting. Guess unfair advantages make some sports exciting, like baseball. Oh, wait, it doesn’t?

Lets let Chad pop those things up in the back (or drop em down), kick those fenders out and watch technology dominate. Better put some traction control on them while we’re at it. Then they’ll be so easy to drive a caveman can do it and anyone.

  8. 8 Still a Jr Fan

Hendrick needs to just accept the decision handed down by nascar. If you do not go by the rules you pay the price. Deal with it and more on. It will not be the last time you get caught. Do what Todd Berrier did and just get better at it

  9. 9 Axel Foley

    can win.

  10. 10 George Thompson

For the record they did not break the rules, they messed around in the gray area and The France Family didnt like it so we will see how it turns out. Anyhow i’m not a HMS fan and i hate the COT, it’s a slow piece of junk.

  11. 11 Anonymous

Racing has always been about having an advantage and pushing the rules. Two of Nascars biggest cheaters in history are Richard Petty and Junior Johnson…..2 legends in the sport. It’s a racing teams job to push the envelope and see how far they can push the rules to gain an advantage. Of course, Axel, you would actually need experience on a race team to know this.

And I hate to burst your traction control bubble, but, racing through Eua Rouge in the rain at 175 mph with traction control is not something anyone could do….certainly NO ONE in Nascar except for Juan Montoya.

You can sure tell who has been involved with racing and who is a ‘Sunday morning couch pilot’.

Speaking of anonymity…who the hell is Axel Foley?

  13. 13 LDadrenaline

axel foley!? Beverley hills cop! (1-3)! lol how have you not seen that?

the only thing i think that is unfair is penalizng hendrick owner points. its the crew chiefs decision to cheat, not his, and im almost sure of that. im sure he says “push the rules to the limit”, but this is not the first time chad knaus has gone past the limit.

  14. 14 kevin

DEI considered the appeal because the brackets were issued by NASCAR earlier and than they change to the new bracket. It is not like the “modified” anything like the 24 and the 48.
PS I dont like Jr or HMS so this is just my point of view

  15. 15 Jarrod

The whole appeal is just a way for the teams to put off the suspension for another week. Most of them know going into the appeal process that they are not going to win, but if they say they are going to appeal the ruling that gives them a little more time to decide who is going to run the show at the track.
ALL of the crew chiefs are trying to find an advantage, Black- White- Grey, I don’t care what color it is. That’s racing, take the rulebook and study it, look for loop holes, try to pass inspection and hopefully WIN. It’s really not much different than driving down the highway dreaming that you are Jeff Gordon and not obeying the posted speed limit. You’re thinking well they usually give you 5 mph over posted, and all of the sudden the cops are pulling you over for 72 in a 70. What those teams did WAS intentional and they got popped. That doesn’t make them bad and it doesn’t mean they should be banned from NASCAR. Just for the record I am NOT a Gordon or Johnson fan but some of you really need to understand that what they did wasn’t murder. It was just a stupid set of fenders.

  16. 16 Nascarfan4life24

Appeal it, Appeal it, Appeal it!! They will win!

  17. 17 Mike

Actually, Smokey Yunick and Ray Evernham (crew cheif days) were the biggest cheaters in NASCAR.

  18. 18 Stewart Fan

oh my gawd, hendrick can cry for days and still never get a clue. Cheater Cheater Cheater. this isn’t the first time hendrick had the nerve to cheat

  19. 19 Big Earl Racing #31 Jeff and Robby Gordon fan

    stewart fan,

you have no room to speak because yer driver is the biggest cheater out on the track. then he cries when some one wrecks his crap. HMS wil win so APPEAL APPEAL APPEAL!!!!

  20. 20 MichelleJJ48Fan

Its funny how when HMS gets penalized its because they cheated, but when Jr gets penalized it was unintentional and not cheating.. lmao Talk about hypocrits.

  21. 21 Darrell

well i see nascardan4life24 made it to this conversation unanonymously….first of all DEI was going to appeal the penalties not the infractions..and NASCAR said if they do they will be knocked out of the top 35 in points..so the same better happen to Hendricks…they have cheated so much in the past and won the race it isnt funny its bout time they get what was comming to them…yes i am a JR fan and yes i do agree with him getting penalized as well..even tho they didnt modify the bracket it was still the wrong bracket therefore they should be fined..but JJ and JG always blame their issues on someone else and always ask for a plea bargain to get out of it..if i was Robin Pemberton..EVERY SINGLE CAR that failed initial inspection would be sent home..not parked..SENT HOME NO QUALS, NO PRACTICE, NO RACE..simple as that…

nascar never over turns a penalty so good luck with that one…nascar as a santioning body is a piece of SH*T as far as im concerned..

  22. 22 Darrell

    oh one more thing..

MichelleJJ48Fan..yeha im talkint to U…when was the last time hendrick motorsports was penalized…wasnt it Daytona 500 in 06…Chad got suspended..but no points were taken away..and then thsi season Evernham turns around and does the SAME THING and they lose points..why dont u stop ur whining and bitching and just accept the fact they finally got what was coming to them…this is exactly why i cant stand gordon or johnson fans..they got their head stuck so far up their ass it isnt funny..its ok for ur driver to cheat, or wreck people and etc and etc..but the moment something happens to them for what they have done..u cry about..GET A LIFE

  23. 23 J

Hey Mr. Hendrick…once bitten, twice shy ! Ole Chad cheated once and got caught…he cheated AGAIN and got caught ! Are you really going to keep him on the job ? YEP !!!

  24. 24 Mike

Big Earl Racing you’re a fool. Tony Stewart has never cheated in NASCAR. Your personal hate for Tony Stewart is your own bag but don’t try to claim he cheated. Lets not forget about Robby throwing stuff out the window to get a caution. So who’s the cheater?

  25. 25 KelloggsCarquestChevy

HAHAHAHAHAHHA! I said bad things would happen to Hendrick after that stupid move with Jr. Oh my, I was so happy! Now just to be fair, I really don’t think drivers should be penalized for the stupid crap crew members do. (Unless they were in on it, and it can be proven.) KARMA, Mr. H…. What goes around, comes around.

  26. 26 gkirb

KCC Your statement didn’t have any sour grapes in it now did it

  27. 27 Axel Foley

I know what racing has been. I have been in and around racing since before I can remember. I understand that pushing the limits and finding an imbalance is what get wins. Its also what keeps racing from being a real sport. I didn’t always feel this way but I unlike some people have dynamic thoughts.

Keep an open mind. We all have our opinions.

Its funny how the personal attacks fly from the nameless when a harmless opinion is expressed. That is often the response of an insecure individual.

  28. 28 KelloggsCarquestChevy

Yes, you are right, gkirb. I am bitter about it.
I have tried hard to let it go, but I can’t yet.
So I just gat satisfaction at seeing HMS have
trouble. (As long as it does not involve Kyle.) lol

  29. 29 KelloggsCarquestChevy

I misspelled “get”. Don’t bash me for it. :p

  30. 30 Justin

Actually Chad has been caught cheating 6 or 7 times in the last few years. So dont complain that Nascar is unfair. Just pass the kleenex to HMS and lets go racing.

  31. 31 gkirb

No problem KCC my fingers get a mind of there own sometimes too, as for the Kyle/Hendrick split it is just as much Kyles fault, he apairantly wanted more than rick thought he was worth at this time and with Jr. on the back burner I dont blaim him. As for Kyle He is a very talented young driver that just needs some time to know when to rine along and when to push to the front, He will be alright, I’m sure he will end up with a good team .

  32. 32 Adam

    damn…now we got a #5 fan on here…crap
time to find ANOTHER blog site.
i’ll agree with gkirb, kyle is talented, but time aint gonna help that boy. the only thing that will help him is a good ass beating. i aint talking about the kind you get in school. i’m talking about the kind you get at the local dirt tracks were someone is really hurt, goes to the hospital, and then realizes that maybe there is a lesson to learn. other than that…i still don’t think he is worthy of driving terry labonte’s car. nor is his brother kurt worthy of driving rusty’s car…..peace bitches

  33. 33 gkirb

Damn Adam tell me how you really feel LOL.

  34. 34 Ben

hendrick get rid of chad because he got caught “cheating” are you kidding me that would be more insane than him getting rid of ray everham chad is a genius i can’t stand his driver though if you ask me what theses teams do and get called cheaters isn’t cheating just pushing it to the limit every team that runs good does it and sometimes you get caught but i agree with the penilites what is good for one is good for all at least nascar was consistant on something this year

  35. 35 Big Earl Racing #31 Jeff and Robby Gordon fan

    Mike,

U were a speacial ed student right??? like at michigan when you see a car slower then you you go around not into the back of them. Tonys first year a waltkins glen coming out fo the S’es tony was caught on camera numerous times pushing driveris into the guard rails. tony has an anger problem and he’s just a cheater plain and simple. trust me when it comes to cheat i knoiw. i race my local dirt track and people ar constantly caught cheating. so learn the meaning of cheating be fore opening yer mouth.

    thanks

  36. 36 RedDevil

Sounds alot like Dale Sr. to me.. but stewart does not cheat.. he never moves someone out of the way for a win.. never so shut it. Racing is racing dirty.. not being freindly.. thers my 2 cents.. peace

  37. 37 KelloggsCarquestChevy

Wow, Adam. And I thought I had anger issues.
Don’t let the pop-up blocker hit you on the way
    to ANOTHER blog.

  38. 38 Bill

HEY ADAM; Why you get your butt over t Irag and kick some ass??

  39. 39 Mike

    Big Earl,

You must be some yokel who can not comprehend what cheating is in this story. Let me put it out for you. In this story they are talking about cheating by altering the car, not aggressive driving. Two different things here. Cheating is used in this story to explain alterations to the car that would give them the upper hand. That is what cheating means in this article. Not once has aggressive driving been considered cheating in this article nor should it ever mean cheating, its something completely different.

Also before you go around calling people special ed students, look at yourself boss. You cant even spell you dope.

    Sincerely,
    Mike

  40. 40 HoppyGirllllllll

Big Earl Racing, if you are going to call someone a special ed student, at least spell “special”
correctly. I can’t even tell what the rest of the comment is trying to say, can someone please
    translate?

  41. 41 Mike

    Hoppy,

From what I gather he thinks Tony is cheating because Gilliland cant drive and caused Tony to run into him. Also he thinks its cheating when Tony bumps someone out of the way. How this falls into cheating I dont know.

Then he started to talk about dirt track racing and that it makes him a expert on what cheating is. I was then told to shut my mouth because he was mad that I knew what type of cheating was involved in the story and he was angry because he didn’t.

  42. 42 HoppyGirllllllll

    Thanks again Mike, you rock!

  43. 43 STEVE

HEY STEWARTFAN THINK ABOUT THIS STEWART CRIES EVERYTIME HE LOSES AND TRIES TO RUN AWAY FROM CAMERA, SOO WHEN U SAY HENDRICK CRIES LOOK AT MARTHA STEWART AKA LIL SMOKEY

  44. 44 Breanna.

Ah yes I see the personal attacks haven’t stopped. That I can think of,
Tony Stewart has never been caught cheating in Nascar. His “problems”
lie in his attitude at times, not in his cars. And Johnson, Gordon,
Tony, AND Jr didn’t cheat. Learn these names: Knaus, Letarte, Zipadelli,
Eury Jr. Sorry if I massacred Zipadelli’s. Oh, and Knaus had been
caught cheating seven times and this makes it eight, by the way.
Hendrick’s not appealing it because he knows it’s going to waste time
and money and get him nowhere. And DEI didn’t appeal because Nascar
threatened them, from what I understand. Bottom line is, Nascar’s
penalty system is completely f__ked because there’s favoritism and
greed. It’s probably always going to be unfair, which isn’t right,
but at the same time Hendrick needs to stop whining and suck it up.
If he’s sick of penalties like this, fire the crew chief who’s been
caught cheating eight times. Simple, no?

  45. 45 Joe

Speed costs money how fast do you wanna go !!!!Sad fact there is no balance. No matter what NASCAR does he who has the deepest pockets wins. this sux.and it’s sad but true.I worked for a team that was on top a few years ago.Now they cant hardly make a race.Ihate this because their a great group of guys.
