Harvick says Toyota is ahead of everybody on horsepower

RCR driver Kevin Harvick believes that Toyota has a clear horsepower advantage over the other manufacturers.
“I think everybody in the garage is down on horsepower compared to the Toyota guys,” Harvick said at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. “In the Nationwide Series it’s almost a joke as to how much more power they make than everybody else. I feel good that our team has made gains in the engine department, power-wise, but it’s hard when you’re almost racing restrictor-plate races every week, and you’re racing against cars that are making 20-plus more horsepower than you. It’s hard to keep up.”
The same applies to the Sprint Cup Series, Harvick said.
“They have the same power advantage over there that they have in the Nationwide garage,” Harvick said. “It doesn’t show up as much because there’s more good teams to overcome that. Right now, everybody’s trying to play a little catch-up on the power side of it to get to where they need to be. Those engine packages are all brand new. Right now it’s not good for anybody in the garage unless you have a Toyota.”

As long as the motors aer within the rules these Chevy guys need to stop crying about it.
And how come we’ve only heard about Chevy’s lack of HP…? I mean Dodge & Ford are down too… but at least they’re still competitive….. l0l
So no one cries when Hendricks goes quicker than everyone else and dominates? If you’re down on power, wake up your engine builder. Everyone is using the exact same restrictor in Nationwide so figure it out.
I don’t like the fact that Toyota has more horsepower, but if its within the rules (which i would like to see what the full rules say) than theres nothing to do about it.
I wonder if other drivers are going to speak out on this?
the problem is that toyota puts more money into the nascar program than the other 3 manufacturers, so sure, they’re gonna be making more power. but as long as they keep not winning, no problem with me
But the thing is its not Toyota’s fault that the other manufactures aren’t spending enough.
Money is a strong word and anyone can be “bought” with money. Everyone has a price. I guess we all know na$car has been bought out (not just by toyota either)
Last year Toyota fell flat on its face. So what did they do? They got up and started swinging. Now they’re kicking a$$ and taking names. Cronquist brings a lot to their program too.
would you like some cheese with that wine!!!

As long as they are Per rules, ill be fine with it.
I keep hearing that they are per rules, but everyone that tells me they are hasn’t seen these rules either..
Can anyone find the rules for me?
You have to have a NASCAR hard Card to get the rules book. But if they were not by the rules then NASCAR would have done something about it already.
And another note about the rules and seeing them. I think NASCAR should do what the FIA (worlds largest sanctioning body) does, put your rules for all your series online for everybody to see. There is something wrong when I can go onto the FIA’s site and get all the rules and tech specs for F1, but I can’t go onto NASCAR.com, and get the Modified tour rules.
Thanks, i also think nascar should allow anyone to see the rules.
Toyota may have more HP , but how many Cup races have they won? Its the whole package , HP , handling , aero , pitstops , etc. But , even with that said , I expect Kyle Busch and Stewart will win quite a few races this year.
