Harvick not happy with Stewart after late race contact

Kevin Harvick was less than thrilled following the Allstate 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway Sunday.
The race leader with 10 laps to go, he and Tony Stewart found themselves locked in a battle for the win. After contact with Stewart, Harvick plummeted through the leaders in the final laps and finished seventh.
Certainly not a bad finish, unless one seemed to have a solid shot at the win with a handful of laps to go.
“He’s always the first one to whine about people giving him enough room,” he said after the race - and after a mandatory meeting in the NASCAR trailer. “I gave him plenty of room all day to race, and he winds up knocking the left-front fender off and we wound up finishing seventh. It is what it is. You just race them how they race you.”
After talking with Harvick, NASCAR officials said they did not believe that Harvick was retaliating for that maneuver.
“Tony runs his Busch [Series] cars sometimes. They had a discussion and that was the end of that. They raced pretty hard and I guess when Tony passed him, the contact that they made sort of messed up the handling of his car. The handling went away.”
Still NASCAR must not have been too pleased. Hunter was asked how NASCAR felt about the tap.
“We’d rather them not do it,” he said.

See.. everyone complains.. Harvick will eventually cool down… at least i hope he does…
I really doubt these two will ever have a rivalry but NASCAR needs somethin, especially
with it being so PC these days, and even though I’m a Harvick fan and they are good friends
a rivalry would be nice.
Stewart didnt have to cave his fender in since had a faster car but he did anyway
Yeah and Harvick tapped him back, they’re even. If he cared so much
about his car and getting a good finish he wouldn’t of done that.
But he lost his temper, just like Tony does, and that just proves
Tony’s not the only one to do so.
like i accidently typed on another post…
i’d be mad if i lost, too.
Tony and Harvick are just alike. Thats why kevin didn’t make a big deal out of this.
You can’t get to mad at a guy who drives just like you do and that’s why you put him in your Bush car to drive…
Kevin waited until the race was over and tapped Tony back. He already
had his finishing spot so he wouldn’t have finished any worse.
They always say rubbing is racing until it happens to them.
Fact of the matter is nothing will come from this. Harvick is completely right about what happened, but since those two are big buddies and pass that busch series money off left and right to each other, this will fade away. As usual, Stewart will get free press time again about his own radio show and he’ll discuss why did drove like an idiot into Harvick around Tuesday and will rip the media a new one come Saturday if asked about it again. What a fine champion he will be come December representing Nascar with a year in review of him belittling lesser known drivers, throwing his own team mate under the bus and whining & cussing and calling Nascar fake. Will that all make the film they play on the big screen in New York during Nascars big night? What a classy driver to be remembered.
Yup, I will remember Tony for the real champion he is. I will remember how he tore through the series in the summer of 05. I will remember him climbing his first fence that same summer at Daytona. As well as laying down on the wall at the Brickyard after his first win there and giving an interview. Who can forget his no fear policy when it comes to speaking his mind? Yeah, I will always remember Tony Stewart for the champion he is.
Fact is that colorful guys like him are remembered forever as opposed to those guys who follow protocol and act PC are forgotten and merely become silent history in the sport. In 15 years ask who Dale Jarrett is and im sure people will have to stop and think a few minutes to remember the former champion of 99.
I’d be pissed if i came in 7th instead of 2nt!
kevin had every right to be pissed too
but then again, this is part of the ________ that
stewart fans have to put up with—wonder why?
or is the question
wonder whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
tony would’ve been livid had kevin won and not him
it would’ve been second verse, same as the first—
he pushed me into the wall!
but then again, kevin is supposed to understand because they’re friends
and this is “MY RACE”
still not a word about stewart being fined for saying ________ on the
air!
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
ok, i just saw the article!
NASCAR officials said they will
address the issue at the beginning of the week.
Vice President Jim Hunter said there could be a penalty or a loss of points.
“The drivers should clean up their language in my opinion,”
he said. “There are a lot of young kids who look up to these drivers.
I’d prefer they use the English language
i appreciate and respect the fact that our youth is getting the
respect and acknowledgement of being race fans also.
i respect that nascar is looking to be an example to them
thru the drives….
my main thing is, jr got fined so tony should
recieve the same fine
point for point, dollar for dollar
…Cuss words are in the English language and in Webster’s
dictionary. Even the deadly f-bomb, oh my! -Gasp.-
Check the article on Tony cussing and read what the comments say about the
FCCs different rules and regulations pertaining to the two channels.
As for Tony being upset had Harvick done the same to him, so what?
If, to you, Harvick is justified in being upset, Tony should be as
well had the circumstances been reversed. And Harvick would of been
the one saying get over it. All the drivers are whiners, when it
comes down to it, and like somebody said they all say bumping is a
part of racing until they’re on the receiving end.
Now who is whinning?????? Here is a solid friendship……..
