It's not arrogance. It's called satire but it fits into our Truex and Earnhardt discussion very well.

Dave in Indy
Quote "contact. DARNED keyboard. I should lose 25 points, I said darned!"

Well, I HAD appreciation for the conversation up until that last comment. That was just stupid and uncalled for. As I said BEFORE... I have NO PROBLEM with some of the words used. I thinks its stupid to have such a rule in the first place other then for the most vulgar of words that should not be said on tv... such as the F word, C word, etc. As for the other "small" less vulgar words... who cares.

It appears though you seem to think I am saying all words and now your just getting arrogant in this. So I am done with this conversation. I said what I thought it should be like and what it IS like and what Nascar is hypocritical to. So end of story.

I guess that we agree to disagree. Personally I just feel that you have blinders on because Dale Junior "dropped the S bomb" and got docked points and Truex didn't. Again what Truex said is acceptable under the FCC rules and that is what BASCAR modeled their tolerances off of. If you disagree, please cintact your represenatative and have them petition the FCC to add "hell" or "shucky darned" or whatever to the disallowed rules.

A NO TOLERANCE POLICY exist for a reason/ If Nascar followed it's OWN RULES then there would have been a punishment to not only Truex, but Busch bro's for their words as well (last season). But THAT is my point, they are not consistant and tend to favor people....period. I don't care if it was a measily "hell" or the worse of the words. No telerance means just that. nascar just can't ever get their shit straight.

As for Carlin... I dont care, I know what he says and acts like. That has nothing to do with the rules put in place BY nascar, not fcc. The fcc has its own that every television channel "supposedly" abides by. Though its funny that we are hearing some pretty blatent terms, words used on air that are never caught/fined and that is on regular channels, not cable. So that's a whole different deal there.

Either way... nascar is going to do it to people when they feel like and not to others because that's just them. This is just not going to go away. BUT, I will say I told you so the next time this happens and its not one of the "favorite" boys of nascar. I mean I would love to hear Gordon, Johnson, Busch bro's, drop one of those words and we will see that nothing will happen, yet Jr, Stewart, Edwards, Martin, etc would get nailed. Amazing. I can just see it.

PS: jr88fan - if you want to know what words that you can't say on TV, listen to the George Carlin bit. That bit was inspired by the FCC along time ago (and that is on what NASCAR deemed as offensive). The S bomb is a no-no but hell is okay. Am I the only one that sees it this way?

Long story short - Truex did not do anything to warrant any penalty - Lil E did. NASCAR has stated in the past that if it's something that the FCC fowns on, they frown on it. The NASCAR rule does not call out what words are bad and words are okay but I've seen them dock folks for saying s--- and not for hell. It is consistent.

Well, if you ACTUALLY read the post before and understood them, you would see that there IS a difference. Either way, nascar frowns on the usage of swear words period! But, like I said... only a select few are going to receive penalties when they do it. Truex did not get nailed. As he should have, IF nascar were consistent, but their not.

As for the thing you said about taking the kids to church and hearing hell there.. well, that's one of the reason's, as MENTIONED before that kids are hearing the words everyday and using far worse at age 8-9. So its a stupid rule. Now if the F bomb and a few select words were used, now sure give 'em the penalty, but the other words, just drop it all together unless your going to nail everyone with the rule.

And BTW-- The Busch brothers BOTH have been guilty of swearing on tv as well, one of them has said a word that should be on the select list. It's just bs that some get away with it and some don't. That's my beef and well, this post is pretty much over until the next one does it.

Again saying "he11" is NOT the same as dropping the s-bomb. There is no comparison. NASCAR's rule mirrors the FCC rule. Get real.

Actually it not lacking. The fact is NASCAR has a rule that hinges on this. They BOTH broke it, they both should face punishment since the rule is there. I don't like the rule and think its stupid myself. Because were all human, but as I said before its all about the "family friendly atmosphere".

And FYI... it was Immedietely following the race end, not some 30 mins later as you state. It was right after he got out of the car. I would say actually in less time to cool then what Truex had with him going to the med center. So come on now, be real.

By the way.... I never did hear that Truex got nailed, its Wed's. So, there is exactly what I am talking about with Nascar not following their own rules. Its all about doing what they want when they want and not being fair to the drivers. So screw 'em. This is why I am pretty much done, as are others with nascar. Just another thing to keep me away after this season. It adding up fast already... 5 races in. Now that's sad.

Comparing what Truex Jr. said after climbing out of a wrecked race car and what the other Jr.
said 30 minutes after a races after a race was over is just silly. Likewise what Truex said
was not in the widely accepted "7 things you can't say" mantra that the FCC uses. Dale Jr's
s-bomb" was. Someone mentioned to me long ago, when your vocabulary count is down
around 50 or so, chances are something bad will slip out once in while. Sorry, I couldn't
resist. I understand sticking up for your boy but the comaprison between what the two Juniors
said is lacking.

Kevin was a man to accept his responsibility. How many others would not? Smoke and Kevin are too good of friends to let this stand in their way and I'm sure someone at JGR will tell the spotter to watch what he says over the radio. That had been a reason JGR had been reluctant to allow their drivers scanners on nascar.com etc.

Guest is right. That was the first decent NASCAR race of the season (at least the last few laps). Maybe, just maybe, that's why Tony didn't go off as usual. Not because he and Harvick are tight, but because even Stewart saw it as a "racing to win" move. He would have done the same thing.

True Andy. They are grown men (and a woman here n there) But, since they DO have some stupid rule, I guess they have to do some sort of fine. But the points are WAY too much to do.

FYI:
This post kinda turned this way, only because we know that it's not going to get a thread on its own. I just have a feeling that nothing would be noted on that and it burned me up about this double standard on it.

*He had been points leader at that time, until that time. The chase was on and he was leading, only in the like last two races did he go downhill where he did. Jr finished behind, JOHNSON not Busch. Johnson, I think got 3-4 in a row or it was the top finishes that pushed him forward. I had it figured out back then and I think it was the old point system that it was different. I had worded it wrong. I made sense back then. I don't think I can explain it now.
