Hamlin says he needs to ‘grow up’ after Petty altercation

Denny Hamlin said Friday that he needs to grow up and not let things get to him, but he didn’t apologize for the on-track and off-track altercation he had last weekend with Kyle Petty.
After Denny Hamlin bumped Kyle Petty from behind, causing both cars to crash, Petty confronted Hamlin in the garage.
“Kyle is someone I really respect a lot, regardless of any on-track incident,” Hamlin said. “No matter what you do, Kyle is going to be right.
“And a lot of what he did [last weekend at Dover] was right. You never want to be involved in an incident with Kyle because he is respected a lot like Mark Martin is in the garage. So really, I’ve just got to learn to grow up,” he said.

WTF? What a cop out. Kyle is always right on the track? I hope that was supposed to be sarcastic, because if it’s not, I don’t know what to think of Denny…
Kyle uses profanity at Infineon on TV and smacks a competitor’s helmet in the garage area at Dover and no penalty. Suppose the same situation happened with the Busch brothers or Robby Gordon. This is very inconsistent on the part of Nascar. That’s why I don’t want a Nextel/Spritn cell phone plan…they would have to be the only plan on the planet for me to suscribe. My two cents!

Kyle Petty is a son of a great driver in his day but as for kyle he needs to stay out of
way of real drivers that are contending in the chase. Kyle just loves riding around and
finishing 35th. He hasnt won a race in years a probably wont riding in cars built in
that old barn he calls a shop. And no engineering other than a ball of string. He is just
like his father in that he wont spend any money to build a competitive car.
Who really needs to “grow up”,… it was Kyle going over and getting into Denny’s face. Denny you are fine,… don’t let him get to you!!! Kyle is washed up,.. he needs to call it quits and let someone else come in and win some races!
Denny was wrong when he took out both cars last Sunday. Kyle was wrong to come over and confront Denny, such is racing. Two wrongs dont make a right.
Both are wrong……………….
