Hamlin puts Daytona wreck behind him, focuses on Chicagoland

Second year Gibbs driver Denny Hamlin wants to forget last weekend’s wreck with teammate Tony Stewart and move forward into this weekends’ race at Chicagoland. He doesn’t even want dwell on who’s fault it might have been that caused the accident because it really doesn’t matter.
“It was a frustrating night for this team, but looking at the big picture it didn’t hurt us too bad,” said Hamlin, who remained second in the series standings. “We had a good car and led some laps, but I guess it wasn’t meant to be. Tough to go out at all, but with a teammate it’s worse because it affects everyone at JGR, and I hate it for the teams and guys at the shop.
“[It] doesn’t really matter how or why it happened, and there is no use pointing fingers. It’s behind us now, we’ll get back to do what this team does best, run consistently each weekend.”

Hamlin is good kid and this statement shows the poise of a true champion competitor! He sits Second in
point and in all reality has a chance at a cup in his second year. He had a chance at it last year
going into Miami. He will win a cup if he keeps his game at this level!
Hamlin just needs to go punch Stewart in his fuglt nose!!! Show him who’s boss, dude!! You are the new man at JGR!!!!! Stewart is just a has been!!!
Once again genius radiates from you 24. *rolls eyes*
Nascarfan,
While I agree with your thought process, I believe Denny should
continue to take the high road and show his class instead of his ass. He is proving to
be a fantastic driver, a good role model for his sponsor, and a
quick study of how fan support can bolster his confidence into wins
and respect. He has already learned what Tony never will. It’s better
to be a great driver with a good head on your shoulders than just
a good driver with your head up your ass. It’s his anger and impatience that has kept Tony out
of many winners circles. A cool head and a hot shoe will put Denny at
the Waldorf accepting a Cup. At that point, Tony and his childish behavior
will be the laughing stock of stock cars and will ultimately run
him into the retirement he so desparately wants and deserves.
Hamlin has done his own freaking out in some earlier situations, but he did handle this situation very well.
Hamlin has nothing to put behind him. All drivers loss control of their cars at times. Their job is to puch the envelope, sometimes they cross the line and loss control.
Tony should know this, but he likes to ‘pretend’ he is perfect.
Btw if hamlin and stewart fought hamlin would lose i mean come on look at his size denny is not all that big
yeah, and Tony is 6′2″ so idk. Ive seen some little guys though kick some ass. dont think anythign of that though, you gotta look at how muscular and built soem guy is.
Anonyass , youre on drugs. Tony isnt 6′ anything…I stood 2 feet from him at Atlanta and he might be 5′10″.
Everyone knows Daytona is really slick in the summer race(which is why it was described as a driver’s track:slick=driver’s track). Car control is a moving target….Tony needs to get off his throne!
