Gordon says Vickers is not a teammate

Technically, Brian Vickers is Jeff Gordon’s Hendrick Motorsports teammate. Well, for nine more races at least. Certainly, Gordon doesn’t seem to mind that Vickers is leaving after this season, especially not after some hard driving led to some harsh words on Friday.
“He’s my teammate, but he’s not my teammate because he’s moving on next year,” Gordon said. “I raced him harder than he wanted me to race him earlier in the race. I could give all the reasons and excuses, but it doesn’t do any good.”
The two raced each other hard at New Hampshire, and Vickers rankled Gordon when he wouldn’t let the former champ pass. Gordon, fourth in the points standings, even complained on the radio to his team that he hoped Vickers knew that he was racing for a championship.
“It did cost us time, Gordon said. “Right now he’s in a tough position. He’s moving on to a new team. He hasn’t been able to win races like other guys at Hendrick Motorsports. He wants it bad and he’s driving hard and I think it was just a little lapse in judgment.” Vickers finished fifth; Gordon third. Vickers will drive for Team Red Bull in 2007.
“It’s not a guy that’s out there trying to help you win a championship,” Gordon said.

you know what i dont think vickers was in any way wrong if gordon wanted to pass him he should do it the hard way not try to get a position the easy way just bc he is in the chase screw that he needs to work for it not get it handed to him, im a fan of both drivers but gordon can use a little more class then that then wining over vickers not givin him a position i mean come on

Jeff Gordon thinks everyone should move over when he tries to pass….well get over that Jeffie. I’ve seen Jeffie on a few ocassions leave Kyle Busch or Brian Vickers out to dry on restrictor plate tracks. So does that make HIM a bad team mate? Gordon is only interested in himself and Jimiie Johnson doing well. I wouldnt want to be his team mate. Real team mates support each other. Example : look at how all Jeff Burtons former Roush team mates and his current RCR team mates came to victory lane to congradulate him after the Dover win. I’ll shup now.
everyone gets mad when they don’t get there way not just Jeff Gordon .and Yes if you are a true team mate then you would move over if they are faster and in the top 10 ..it seems like the only people that don’t under stand are fans of someone else until there driver does it or talks like that after a race RIGHT you Jeffy haters.you always hate the racers that are good .Well people Jeff is great over all he is the best on the track today with his past and future records!!!!!
I gotta agree with you BFDRACING. Gordon whines like a b#$@# when he gets blocked but he sure loves to do it himself!
Oh please…All Gordon haters are the whiners just by how they all complain about him,(scroll up for perfect example) Amen to Shannon up above on her comment. If it was your driver then it would be perfectly alright then. Remember he is a 4 time WINSTON cup driver…no active driver is close to what he has accomplished. Thank you God Vickers is gone from Hendricks…maybe he should take Bush with him too.
I think vickers is a butt…..i dont get why Mr. Hendrick even put him in the nextel up series…i mean common the kid sucks…..and since jeff is in the chase vickers should of let gordon go by and not be a but to him…..i mean his crew chief had to tell vickers to let gordon pass….jeff’s trying to win a champ but play around w/ vickers and be retared…..

Vickers isnt that good, but Jeff said this about Jimmie aswell this season. Gordon needs to get his head on straight cause I think that his career isnt headed in the right direction.
