Jeff GordonGordon will have added duties when he visits AMS this weekend, serving as the Grand Marshal, giving the command for the drivers to start their engines and get the Pep Boys Auto 500 underway.

“It’s an honor to give the command to start engines prior to the race at a track where my Cup Series career began 15 years ago,” said Gordon, “For the first time, the entire crowd may actually cheer for something I did. “Or, then again, this may be the first time that the command is booed,” Gordon joked.

At least he’s got a sense of humor for all those people who hate him!

I think he should not have that honor. He is a driver that is active not retired. Save that for someone else.

kel93 i think you are right all the way!!!! i think it would be funny to see him get the boo from the croud and get pelted with bud cans!!

You know what? It’s historic. Jeff Gordon will win more championships than The King. For you people to knock him for being so talented is nothing more than disrespect at it’s finest.

Let’s see any of you get out there and be 25% as good as he is.
    Or 25% as good looking.
    Or 25% as rich!
Get over it people, he’s Jeff Gordon!!!

Donny, Gordo’s a great driver, won’t comment on the good looking thing, but I’m pretty sure Jrs worth more than Gordo. Trying to look it up, I’ll get back on that one.

Such jealous and disrespectful fans. That shows the type of fans, when they throw cans
at any driver. I’ve been to many races and I’ve
never seen anything thrown at JR. Gordon said
it best, his fans would not do such. I am soo
proud to be a JG fan.

Actually, I don’t dislike JR as much as I dislike
    his fans and their actions.

No way is JR worth more than JG. Remember, don’t think his “Daddy” left him many $. JG has
been racing and “WINNING” more years and
has won almost 5 times as many races. Do the
math—17 verses 81. JR isn’t the only one whom has other business interest.

Now, Donny, I must agree with you—the best
driver (check his stats) the best looking, and
one of the nicest people, I’ve ever had the
    opportunity of meeting.
Can’t wait till Sunday. GO Jeff!!!!!

I AGREE WITH DONNY AND LUV24CAR. IT’S SO DISRESPECTFUL TO ANY DRIVER NO MATTER HOW AWESOME THEY ARE OR NOT, FOR FANS TO THROW STUFF AT ANY DRIVER. I AM A HUGH JEFF GORDON FAN BUT I ALSO LIKE JR. I’M SURE NONE OF YOU WOULD WANT TO BE THAT DISRESPECTED BY ANYONE ELSE, SO WHY DO IT TO OTHER PEOPLE? LIKE THE SAYING GOES ” DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD WANT DONE UNTO YOU”. A SAYING THAT EVERYONE SHOULD LIVE BY. THAT’S JUST MY OPINION. GOOD LUCK JEFF GORDON, I CAN’T WAIT TO WATCH YOU SUNDAY!
