General MotorsDodgeGeneral Motors Corp. is in talks to buy the Chrysler Group in its entirety, Automotive News reported Friday, citing unnamed sources in Germany and the United States.

The automotive trade publication reported on its Web site that high-level talks were talking place between GM and Chrysler Group parent DaimlerChrysler AG.

The potential deal between the two automakers could go beyond cooperation on joint development of a large sport utility vehicle, the magazine said.

A General Motors Corp. spokesman said the company routinely has discussions with other automakers but declined to comment on the Automotive News report.

“We often have discussions with automakers routinely. We don’t comment on speculation regarding discussions,” GM spokesman Tony Cervone said.

if this actually happens, I will no longer look at buying a dodge. If they sell out then there is only 2 big car manufacturers in America…. GM and Ford…. Chrysler has some good cars out now… they sell out to GM, and they will become shit cars just like GM….. and I’d rather drive a Toyota truck than any American truck any day of the week!

I dnt know what to think about this. Its sad that its come to this shit in America. Fuckin Toyota. Ive got money saying that if this happens that GM will pull the Dodge Nascar support just like they did with Pontiac.

Just to let you all know. Toyota employs more people in the United States than Ford Motor Corp. AND GM combined. What does that tell you. Also GM and DaimlerCrysler have to do something like this to keep up with Toyota quality. This is NOT a NASCAR deal, this is a car deal. It has NOTHING to do with NASCAR. It just will have an effect on NASCAR if/when it happens.

No shit it has nothing to do with Nascar but thats what its goin to affect. The only reason that Toyota employes more people in the US is because they taking GM, Ford, and Dodges jobs from there employers, then they swoop in and look like good guys cause they give people jobs. Fuck that. Its a bunch of shit.
