UPDATE:
“Joe Gibbs Racing is 100 percent focused on trying to win a championship for GM, as well as our sponsors and fans. We have at no time shared any technical information with Toyota or any Toyota team, nor will we as long as there are still races to be run in 2007.” - J.D. Gibbs, president, Joe Gibbs Racing.

Michael Waltrip said in a TV interview last week that one reason his team has improved in recent weeks is the help it has received from Joe Gibbs Racing.
JGR is moving to Toyota next year, but it can’t make Chevrolet officials too happy to hear the Gibbs experts already are sharing info with the Toyota camp.
- Gibbs first choice: Stay with Chevy
- Gibbs to make move to Toyota-new contract for Stewart?
- Hall of Fame Racing could move to Toyota
- Could Stewart leave Gibbs if they move to Toyota?
- Gibbs not decided on either Chevy or Toyota-UPDATED

Wow! I should have noticed the coincidence… JGR announces they’re coming to Toyota and suddenly Mikey is making races and even winning a pole!
I don’t care what JD Gibbs says….in this day and age there is not loyalty anymore. It’s all about the $$
Ha, that shows you right there that there is something that somebody isn’t telling the public about Toyota/Gibbs. Over a course of a week… MWR goes from not being able to qualify to getting the pole, then finishing strong again at Lowe’s. Watch out for JGR next year…. they’ll be the number 2 team again…. after Hendrick, of course.
it only makes since for jgr to help mwr even though toyota is
getting better as the season progresses on.jgr is one of the top
teams in nascar.them going to toyota only makes since.right now
toyota needs al the help they can get.by jgr joining them, toyota
be a better organization, especially with tony stewart on their side.
they may not will the championship next year, but they will have a
successful year next season.
I’m with Benny on this one, JGR is all about money and they don’t have a shred of loyalty to the company who helped win them 3 NNC championships.

Yep and every other cup team, including HMS is all about the money too. If they weren’t, can you honestly say that Knaus would still have a job? Loyalty in sports (auto racing included) is a thing of the past. You look out for #1 and do whatever puts the most money in your pocket because there’s no telling when the gravy train is going to leave the station with you standing there watching it ride down the tracks!
I find it hilarious that people complain Gibb’s organization is not loyal to GM….
You want to talk Loyalty?? Like the fact that GM is closing plants
left and right? Or, the fact that ALL of their parts are made outside the U.S.?
Or better yet, why the only car in NASCAR made in the US is the Camry.
GM,Ford and Chrsler could care less about the American people.
Some will argue that the money ultimately goes back to Japanese company,
Enron was an American company too.
Jeff hit it right on. Its all capitalism and whoever has the biggest check book wins.
Sometimes loyalty will bite you in the butt, I bet you GM came to JGR with a weak renewal offer playing on the loyalty game and that JGR would take the offer and thats what caused JGR to look elsewhere. You can only get insulting offers before you say enough.
My uncle was a loyal GM employee for over 15 years in Flint, Michigan and how did they re-pay him? A nice plant closure that put him out of work. Now he works in Princeton, IN for Toyota.
Jim I cant agree with you more its crap thats thousands of Americans are jobless do to the fact GM is cheap and giving jobs to spicks out side the US its so messed up. We were loyal at one point then GM makes it Employees take pay cuts and even letting go of people GM F you.
The thing you people don’t realize is that it’s because of companies like toyota, honda, kia etc… that GM, Ford and Chrysler have to outsource jobs. GM cannot pay wages, insurance, retirement and all that kind of stuff and afford to be able to sell cars for the prices these foriegn companies sell their cars for. Do you also realize that when you buy one of these foriegn cars the profits go overseas to japan and not into the American economy. GM FORD and Chrysler are still American corporations and buying one of their products supports the economy here, not Japans.
GM should sue JGR or Nascar should step in or even both. this is wrong of JGR to do this and this is some what like in F1 when McLaren was spying on Ferrari. only this time its a Chevy team giving info to yoda team.
Sue JGR for what? Information JGR already had? Its not like JGR is breaking into GM racing shops at night stealing information. They already have all the information their just using it.
JGR has to try out it’s ‘08 Toyota engine package somewhere. It might as well be with Mikey. You don’t think MWR is getting the good stuff, do you????
Joe Gibbs is a TRAITOR, I hope his cars NEVER win another
race again
